***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Thanks :) Any idea how much faster? 20%? 30%?

Hard to say. It will vary from game to game. With mantle coming though the smart money is on 7950's. The 7950 is just a faster and better card, assuming you overclock it.

Just had a quick look at the Unigine Valley thread.

Fastest 760 was...

114, #1934 - 760 @ 1185 / 1878 - los

Fastest 7950 was...

58, #2266 - 7950 @ 1340 / 1890 - kamz

About 18% difference there but the 760 sample size is smaller as its basically a cut down, slower version of the 670 so i don't think a lot of people bought it.

Heaven

Fastest 760 was...

Score 918, GPU 760 @1190/1850, CPU FX6300 @4.0, los

Fastest 7950 was...

Score 1088, GPU 7950 @1310/1950, CPU 3570k @4.6, BluD

About 19% difference but again not many 760's in the sample size.

That's really helpful, thanks LtMatt :)

These cards are going in a Prodigy M, so there are a few things to take into consideration. I'm sure I'll have 2 x 7950s in there before long

However...

As you can see above, if you aren't overclocking, a 760 is faster in all the tests they did. This was a very long comprehensive benchmark for battlefield 4 and was lauded for it's accuracy earlier in the thread so certainly one to look at..

Price wise I would still go 7950 though as they have been going for under £170 recently.

Difference between 760 and 7950 is going to be around 5-10%. The 7950 is just an all round better card though unless you need any of the nVidia specific features.

So whats the score, if I upgrade to W8 will I get more FPS? Im not struggling at the moment, 70FPS average maxed with CF7970GHZ, but I'm willing to spend £75 on W8 if I'm going to get more FPS?

Interesting! Pretty frustrating article though since they didn't test 2 x 7950 or 2 x 760. :/

Ultra at 1440p is scarily demanding.

If you are overclocking you will probably get better results with the 7950 though. 3gb vram may come in useful if you intend to game at over 1080p as well

They are fairly similar performing cards at stock, obviously some games will prefer one of other as it always is.

Anytime. :)

Noted in my post and the cpu will make no difference in these gpu benchmarks.

The only NVIDIA cards I would consider are the 4GB models :)

There really is no competition between the cards. At stock they're trading blows. Overclocked the 7950 will pull ahead with ease. A 7950 at 1100/1500 matches or is slightly faster than a stock 7970ghz. Even crap clocking 7950's (like mine) will do 1100/1500.

Here's some stock benchmarks. One thing worth considering. You have the 760 with its boost feature inflating short benchmark scores. Vs the 7950's grossly underclocked core. ;)

I'm not terribly convinced with the way the buildings collapse when you're on them. I was expecting some epic 911 reconstruction awesomeness, but instead was left floating at an office desk lol.

I heard a phone call on youtube that some bloke made to the emergency services when he was in one of the towers. The tower collapsed while he was on the phone. The screams and sound of his voice as they were going down was about as chilling as it can get.

Anyway...

Are you saying you survived ? You must have some pretty good hax there bro. :p

some people say this gives them a performance boost

bring console down and type worldrender.lighttilecspathenable 0

or add it to config.
