***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

I don't blame you. It's seriously hard to not think about upgrading when playing this BETA, despite the fact it's badly optimized, 3-4 weeks old and we all know the final release will be 100x better.

It's just an impatience I have. Oh and on that note, I can stop playing since you cannot transfer the stats over, so it's BF3 until 1st November. Not looking forward to a 16gb download for the whole game though and no choice of pre-load :(

Yup intending to hold off a proper new build til 20nm GPUs appear but its hard not to splurge out on something that will play the beta at max settings and decent framerates :S

I am still debating the W8 upgrade, not sure if its going to be worth the extra, but as I am going to reformat my SSD for BF4, its very tempting!

Think ill just wait to the final release to see how it performs in win 7. Happy enough with the performance of my system in this so far.

I'm wondering just how much better it can run in final release compared to what we have now. Never played the bf3 beta. As it stands I'm running at 1080p mostly high with no msaa and I wouldn't exactly call it smooth. BF3 runs maxed no issue.

Ok so applied the 60MB patch.

...Performance greatly improved. Average FPS with 3 Titans has gone into triple digits :) For some reason the game keeps tabbing me out on caps lock which is really annoying.

What 60mb patch?

EDIT

Downloading now. Stay Frosty, Frosty.

So i wanted to compare framerates with Post AA Off & on High.

Heres the results..

Oh and i put my CPU Overclock up to 4.6GHz.

(Same 64 player server)

Custom Ultra 4xMSAA 1080p (Post AA = Off)

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
70267, 1165931, 24, 114, 60.267

Custom Ultra 4xMSAA 1080p (Post AA = High)

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
91702, 1526034, 44, 103, 60.092

For me Post AA Off is giving a higher Max FPS but lower Min FPS and on High Post AA its gives better Min FPS and a lower Max FPS but as u can see.. average FPS stays pretty much the same :)

My own conclusion for me is to leave Post AA on High :p

Post AA is FXAA which is worth about 1fps no more no less. Its not in any way demanding will definitely not have a dramatic effect on your minimum fps.

Disclaimer: there is a small possibility im wrong, maybe 0.01%. :D
