I just had a bit of a flap - I had a call from my bank's fraud line questioning my Apple transaction. I confirmed it was genuine and then had to go back into my account and get them to resubmit the payment request. It's all gone through now.

Likely 'cause you bought both a watch and phone - probably set the "someone's got your card details and is having a field day on the Apple site" alarms off :D
Most likely, yes. I don't know whether the fact that I paid by Apple Pay had anything to do with it as well. I'd have thought that was more secure. Anyway, it's all sorted now.

Decided not to flog my 6S+ to the recycling site, going to give it to the girlfriend as she's always moaning about being out of space on her 32GB 6. It's me that benefits from it anyway as it means I get more photos and videos of my son while at work

Also means I don't have to be without for a week :D

Yeah, like not having to sort her phone out when she runs out of space! An optically stabilised versions of all images she send you with her new phone. Sounds like a win all round!

I don't think they did a 32gb 6. 16, 64 and 128gb

This is what always bugs me about the Android manufacturers and Samsung especially. They think the answer is to keep shoving 'features' and 'technology' into their phones so they can have a longer bullet list of things on their marketing material. The number of customers who are actually interested in any of this is actually very small. The vast majority of the phone-buying public don't care how many cores the CPU has or how much memory the phone has or whether the screen has a billion pixels that you'll never see unless you use a microscope. All they care about is the user experience, that the phone is slick and simple to use and does what they need out of a phone. Apple understand this. The fact remains that the vast majority of people who buy an Android phone over an iPhone do so not because they want features the iPhone lacks but because the Android phone is cheaper, simple as. They may not admit it but it's true.

Yes iPhones may be overpriced but not as much as people claim and they're aspirational and people yearn to own one. Samsung et all can mock this all they like but they'd love to be in such a situation, with the same hype Apple generates around a launch and queues of customers camping outside their stores (where they actually have any!).

The thing for me mainly when I was on Android was having such a large choice. Hardware, software etc, I got a headache every year over analysing specs, update frequency, UI, cameras, screens etc. Then when I got whatever phone I spent ages customising it. Then transferring everything was a ballache.

Now I know it's a + model with 128GB or more, turn it on and restore from cloud backup, simples.

Exactly and that's what 99% of customers want. The number of geeks who will spend forever customising their phones is miniscule in reality.

Choice is often a bad thing. The average person wants to be able to open email attachments without having to choose a viewer program. They want to just play music without having to choose what program they use to do that. This is what the Android zealots don't understand - they think everyone is a geek like them.

Android as a system is a total mess. Inefficient, fragmented and insecure.

I have an Android TV and it's full of bugs. If Apple ever started putting iOS in TVs, I'd buy one in a shot because I know it'd just work.

I thought that was with the 6S? Maybe it is a 64GB then...long time ago. Surprised she's managed to fill that then given she doesn't have any music on it nor have Apple music, literally just photos and videos

I always tell my Android using friends that. Half the 'open' nature they tout of the system, I never want. My phone isn't my PC and I don't want to spend hours upon hours customising it. I just want it to work, out of the box with minimal hassle.

16, 32 and 128 GB for the 6 and 6S.

Err, I have a 64GB 6

On battery life:

Remember that incredibly specific rumor from July that talked about the iPhone 7's battery being around 14% bigger than the one in the iPhone 6s? Well, it turns out it was right on the money. The iPhone 7's battery is 1,960 mAh, exactly as rumored. The figure comes from TENAA, the Chinese authority equivalent to the FCC in the US, so it's as official as possible - especially considering the fact that Apple itself never publishes such information.

Considering the iPhone 6S had a slightly smaller battery than the 6 and the new efficiency improvements in the processor setup I would expect some significant battery improvements with the 7.

What are people doing for a case? I'm looking at the Spigen Thin Fit at the minute but worried about protection top and bottom. Anyone use the magnet mounts? The Spigen case allows for them to be used but I'm worried about impact on the compass.
