I'm using the Nvidia recommended settings now someone mentioned that if you change DLSS mode during gameplay then it can crash later on, ubut if you change it, then reload the game then that's fine, and so far that has indeed been fine on my New Game+ Btw just closing your browser widows before loading the game will free up over 1GB of VRAM as browsers now are GPU accelerated, so even in the BG they take up VRAM when minimised, even though Windows 11 will suspect the app when minimised.

Settings? 5800x3d 3080 My experience Preset high 1440p seems to run okay but depending on some areas it can stutter even with FPS being above 60fps I blame the game

Everything maxxed out (except motion blur, CA, film grain) at 3440x1440, DLSS playable at any setting.

No stutter as I play with a PS5 pad.

No crashes if I change DLLS in game, I've done it multiple times experimenting, no idea why it would cause a crash in other systems.

It does seem to be very picky on what or when it crashes and when not. I just played.

I just had a crash having said the above lol, in the start with tess when you first exist the spore room, just froze and CTD. CRAM was showing as 10GB total inc system so wasn't even close to the limit, it's just very picky it seems.

I did however have enought ime to do an RTSS stats bench which showed:

Average framerate : 109.4 FPS
Minimum framerate : 82.1 FPS
Maximum framerate : 143.7 FPS
1% low framerate : 71.7 FPS
0.1% low framerate : 52.2 FPS

Also the HDR in this is very good on OLED 1000 nits. Quite blindingly bright where it needs to be and I like that you can press V in the brightness screen when HDR is enabled in Widnows and then get a realtime view of the game to see what your adjustments look like:

Look at that black level

Far as I'm concerned, all they need to do is fix these crashes so nobody has the issue, then fix the mouse camera panning judder, and from me it's then am 8-9/10 as far as the game goes at that point and ignoring the launch issues. Both of those are in the list of fixes coming too so will be if they come up true on their word.

I use elite 2 controller, max exceeds vram? I'd only use DLSS at quality still seems to exceed vram , I actually haven't tested with latest patch might have fixed it

There are certain parts areas of game that stutter while FPS is still above 60 FPS

Nope, most actual useage I've seen so far, even with no DLSS, is around 10Gb, with DLSS on, around 9Gb.

High RAM useage though, I imagine 16Gb would not be enough to run without introducing stutter.

This is exactly what I’m seeing, the game can stutter like mad despite fps being high.
Been playing it on my laptop for a few hours yesterday and honestly despite fps being lower than my desktop the gaming experience was similar as it was stuttering in similar way but I had zero crashes on my laptop.
That tells me it’s probably my memory overclock that causes crashing on my desktop.

Played it for a few hours on my laptop yesterday and had zero crashes and was definitely switching DLSS modes.
On my desktop it crashes no matter what.
Think it’s my memory overclock causing it.

Couple of crashes on my 3090, runs pretty well outside of that. I only did an hour on the PS4 way back when so it feels like a whole new game for me.

Happy to sit back and wait for the devs to fix what they need to. Might give me the kick I need to finish the other SP games I have!

I got 16GB of RAM both in my laptop and desktop and while the game stutters on both it is not stutter caused by insufficient ram amount.
When you run out of RAM games usually pause for a split second as they are swapping data from disk and usually once it’s swapped the stutter is gone until you move further.
In this game I’m getting bad stutter in certain areas even when I’m standing still and barely moving camera and it doesn’t go away no matter how long I’m standing still.

Removed the manual memory overclock and went back to XMP and the game still crashed.
Oh well I guess I will have to play it on my laptop lol.

Turned my DLSS from Quality to Performance and capped it to 80fps instead of running unlimited and no crashes for 2 hours, even though my temps are good and so is my VRAM. However this game can crash at any point so I don't hold much hope

M/KB or pad?

M/KB or pad?
Xbox series controller.
Like I said stuttering happens at time where on M/KB it’s stuttering/juddering non stop.
Will try PS5 controller now but I doubt it will make any difference.
This is what it looks like but it gets much worse at times.

Edit: Yup stutters the same on PS5 controller.
