What kind of CPU / GPU utilisation figures are people getting with this game? I'm stumped as to why it's not exceeding ~60% of either of mine, and both are no where near getting hot. My CPU absolutely should not be bottlenecking my GPU as it's relatively much stronger. It's not a problem in other games, which max my GPU out at 99% and take it up to 70 degrees easily... I do not have an FPS limit set...

P.S. Do not rely on the in game CPU usage figure as it's wrong. Something like RTSS is needed.
Mine is still the same with CPU at around 27% total usage with GPU at 100% , i have included what each core/thread is doing if you wanted to see that as well . 13900k & 4090 :)

What is your CPU & GPU? What resolution are you trying to run and are you using DLSS?

The lol was for the fact that they launched Witcher Next Gen in the state it was in given that they went through all the flap with Cyberpunk and seemed to not have learned a thing, then spent months optimising Witcher 3 which it now is. Novigrad at 55-65fps with RT enabled and Ultra+? Yeah that's now a thing... The rest of the map is 85fps+ typical (screenshot above was taken before the latest patch).

So how does the game run on AMD 7000 series.? Don't know if I should go with 13700k or 7800x3D today.
Seems the game runs badly on AMD 5000 but not sure about 7000.

I never had a issue with witcher 3 next gen from day 1 and I game at 4k

Thanks guys - something is definitely up then as I can't get it to max my GPU out.

CPU: 7900X
GPU: 3080 (10GB VRAM)
Resolution: 1440p0

If I turn DLSS off then it does push my GPU usage up a bit higher, to around 75%, but it's still acting like it's CPU limited... which doesn't make sense. All CPU cores are being exercised upto about 60%

P.S. I wonder if my VRAM is some how holding it back? But then if I drop settings to High, there's plenty of VRAM available and it still nowhere near maxes my GPU out. In fact, it takes it even easier, with lower usage/temps and FPS actually drops...

What prog are you using to report your CPU/ GPU etc usage? I don't recognise the OSD /layout. There's also 3 FPS listings along the top, I'm guessing the one on the far left is the current fps? The fact your FPS is lower with less stress on the GPU is also obvioulsy weird.

Also, are you on Windows 11? There are certain progs like HWinfo64 that I use that are completely messed up when it comes to reporting usage currently on Win11, though that's only with CPU usage which is reported far too low (Afterburner/ Rivatuner OSD latest version works though). I see your CPU usage is listed as ridiculously low on the top row data so whatever you're using has that CPU 'bug'.

As to why your GPU usage is not maxing out (assuming your OSD reporting is right of course!) - that has got me stumped! No way you're CPU limited with your 7900x, and your VRam shoudn't be an issue with you testing at lower settings either. Very Puzzling....

I think it's this one: https://fpsmon.com/en/ you can customise parts of it

Edit: Actually I think that is just MSI Afterburner

Looks like HWINFO to me.

I use it in conjunction with MSI AB for my OSD.

The grey text at the very top is the game's over lay - that's massively under-reporting CPU usage, they obviously haven't addressed the Windows 11 bug. The three FPS figures the game reports (at the top, in grey text) from left to right is actual FPS, what it thinks the current FPS limit is for the CPU and what it thinks the current FPS limit is for the GPU. Suggesting it thinks it's CPU bottle-necked.

All of the stats in the orange text is from the latest versions of Hwinfo + Riva Tuner RTSS, which AFAIK should be accurate. I just can't figure out why this game would be CPU bottlenecked for me, the 3080 should be my bottleneck, not the cpu (7900X)...!
