It is a RAM hog, total system RAM usage can exceed 28GB (my video earlier shows 28GB total used for example) - The more you have the more it will use when needed, else you will see paging to disk.

This is a game that could really benefit from direct storage.

I hope they get a move on and start implementing these features in to more games.

It seems like the primary platforms for innovation is now the consoles and they are retrofitting features on the pc.

I got to see the game on a friend's LG 48" C2 this weekend. Absolutely. Fricking. Stunning.

Trying to find a way to get a big enough desk to host a 42" C2 alongside my existing 32" monitor now

Last Of Us just installed an update, specific for mouse stutter..

Will give it a go and see how it does :)

Now you have to wonder wtf is taking them so long to do the same about Uncharted and camera stutter!

Edit*

Just tried it out and OMG, it is SO smooth, it's essentially night and day difference. How on earth nobody at ND caught this before launch is a complete mystery. The game is essentially now near perfect, shader comp still takes about 20 mins or less, and load times are still over 20 seconds, but hey ho. Everything else appears to be 10/10.

Oops. Got side tracked trying out Cyberpunks fancy pants RT Overdrive, which is just WOW! And quite happily makes my 4090 cry

Anyhoo, I'll give this a try now :)

Yeah, bl00dy el its smooth as butter now, amazing!!

Isn't enough? :)

I notice your ram usage is at 20Gb.

I only got 16Gb total system ram

Dude, RAM is dirt cheap at the moment. Grab at least 32GB. Even 64GB is cheaper now than what I paid for my 32GB a year or so ago.

Thanks for all the beta testing mrk. Looks like the game is slowly getting there. Should be in a very good condition in 6 months or so when it is sub £20 I will grab it :D

Sadly not perfect in my case, the game has been broken since patch 1.2.0 due to crashing every few minutes - prior to the patch it was fine. As this is happening on both my wife's machine and my own I think this may be AMD specific. Have also found similar posts on the Steam forum for AMD users. Rolling back drivers does not resolve the issue either, so now unplayable for me until this specific issue is fixed.

Edit: For reference have tried all the usual things, validating game files, reinstalling, shader clean up, removed undervolting, stability tested with synthetic and other games. Just one of those issues triggered by a specific combination of hardware and/or software I suspect.

Was just playing a quick session earlier on Grounded+ and got a crash to desktop! So it does seem the nvidia hotfix driver has not actually solved the issue :/
