The Lord of the Rings Online - Name / Class / Server thread .. etc etc

Aion has been the final nail in this damn fine MMo's coffin.. the game is just orientated around instances and not around questing anymore :(

i was close to my fifth level sixty freep and not far off my second Rank 8 creep but sadly the moors (PvP)is just a case of who has the biggest zerg ..

have a lifetime sub so i can always pop in to see how the game changes, but i have no enthusiasm to login these days ...

PvP has always been like that in any MMO.

The Eldar server is usually quite busy, the only quite places I find are the starter areas but other areas like Bree, Moria, Rivendell etc... are quite busy and within the 21st hall there's usually about 50 odd people in there.
I've only played this about 2 1/2 months and it's my first MMO but I'm loving it at the moment.
Having to do so many raids just to get certain armour is annoying though, especially since you have to do 1 raid to get gloves, another raid to get shoulder pads and so on.

im not talking about the obvious or any other MMo im more refering to Lotro PvP imbalances since MoM .. the Laurelin PvP community used to be great with 1v1 fights common place with no interference. Most classes could fight knowing that there was at least some degree of skill involved which could influence the outcome.

However after the level cap was raised and freeps got new skills and legendary weapon system the balance totally shifted, it basically broke PvP. This in turn led to just zerg v zerg and took away all the fun and what little skill there was.

@ ICEx21 : As an MMo Lotro is superb, the classes are great the locations are great and the Epic quest line fun to persue. It also has the best community you'll find and although i didnt RP some of the events were fantastic and extremely well put together.

It will be going DX11 soon, how soon I can't say because I don't know. :p

I might try the trial again. I was a bit closed-minded and playing WoW then went to EVE so I'm up for something different nowadays. Once I've got the trial what server would you recommend?

what server would you recommend?

Laurelin, its got a whole bunch of nice and friendly people and I think is the 2nd most populated. It may be an RP server but generally what that really means is that you wont get people running called I<3S3ph3R0fff1111 and instead have the ocassional drunken dwarf stumbling round. :p

@ICEx21

lvl 59 in two and a half months, taken me more than 9 to get to 38:rolleyes:

I stayed away from the RP labelled servers because i assumed it was full of roleplayers, but i'm currently thankful i haven't ran into any people who speak jibberish 'leet' speak.

Laurelin!

It's tagged as the roleplaying server, but there's a lot of people on there who aren't RP tagged. Just means you get a much nicer crowd, although you also generally get a load of people in Bree doing RP stuff. It's actually quite cool, brings the place to life.

Unfortunately that's what unemployment does to you :(.
I'm glad that I am employed now as it seriously cut the time I was spending on that game, at one point I spent 13 hours straight playing this...seriously addicting.
If anyone's on the Eldar server feel free to add me and we also welcome newbies into our kin "The Last Chance To Rise"

I got the 14 day trail yesterday and had a quick play for 30 minutes this morning. I'm really looking forward to having a proper play with it tonight. I'm on the Laurelin server as Kerio.

Ah know how it is, if I wasnt working/studying when I first got it I would probably be level 60 several times by now. Im still needing to find a Laurelin casual guild to join but not really looked to be honest.

Oh and just logged in to check my auction (yay more freeish monies for me) and for some reason I now have two of the unique horns that you get from tokens when you buy the Moria expansion. Pretty pointless as they share cool down but weird.

Looks like turbine/codemasters just gave one to each character for some reason.

As you said it's pointless but maybe it helped some people. :)
Just destroy one so it doesnt take up space. :)

What you mean those people? I got dormouse and the singing bird in my house. :D And few of my mates have one of each from me. :)

though i did get a collectors edition and have 5 tokens for each character. :) 5 tokens x 6 char = lots of useless crap :D

I didnt think you can transfer those items as theyre bound. Or can you transfer the door mouse/singing bird? Would be nice if you can as I just bought a house, if not I guess I could just make an alt (with house permissions) and let him choose the things and decorate.

yes they are bound, but other people can give you permision to use their decoration as you mentioned (you don't need to give your alts permision to use house). All you need is visit their house and put the decoration where they want it. They won't be able to move it to another slot though. If they dont want it anymore they can send it back to you.

You can only have 1 house per account and all your characters can use it.
