*** The new MacBook/MacBook Pro thread, all info in here ***

Good to hear that Apple got right on the case though and conferenced you in!

Sounds like awesome support. Just hope you get your mac unscaithed!

Its probably on eBay by now! :D

That is ridiculous though, just as bad as the other person a few pages back whose courier left his MacBook at the local pub!

Yeah thankfully they were on my side!

My poor macbook! It's all alone in a den of thieves!!! Don't worry little one, I'm-a comin' to save you!!!!

Don't say such a thing!! Surely no one would dare sign for something and flog it? TNT will be going to get it back if Apple send me another one - surely that's a criminal offence?

That is shocking! He must have stopped for a cheeky half and left it there on the bar stool!

Lots of reports of right clicks not always being picked up by the new trackpad. Is this common or just the few that have the problem making a lot of noise?

Not had any issues. Used both 2 finger clicks and bottom right corner. Both appear to work fine.

Well I just got home and went over to the address they said it was delivered to. No answer, and there is no card or note at my address. >:/

This is such a **** take. What kind of incompetent buffoon delivers a parcel to some random house on the street? It's not like I live in Emmerdale bloody farm! This is London for crying out loud!!!

How far away is this address from you??

That's very strange and alarming and I'm not entirely sure I believe you.

Hmm the tale takes another twist!

Originally I couldn't track my parcel on the TNT uk site as it wouldn't recognise either my apple reference or tracking number. However, I just did a google for tnt apple tracking a found a forum post of a guy who couldn't track his MBP via TNT uk and so tried it on the TNT china site and it works! So I did and look what I found...

So now I'm officially confused dot com. My Apple order tracking page displays the image I posted earlier, saying the parcel was delivered today and it shows the same reference and tracking numbers as on this image. However, this TNT tracking site shows that they attempted delivery but took it back to the depot as no one was in - but there was no card at my address.

So, can anyone tell me what the **** is going on??!!

Fully star it out

I just tracked via the TNT site and it seems correct for mine also.

Only line so far is:

05 Nov 2008 21:45:00 Nuneaton Shipment In Transit.

And

Destination NORTH WALSHAM

Will track it again tomorrow morning and see if it changes like yours did today.

Thanks for the tip though :D

Edit:
Just refreshed and its now in Northampton Hub.

Btw I went to the TNT UK site and just clicked on "Track - International" and put the reference in.

I'm sooo glad mine came UPS

nero120, any news on your mac?

Mine is now:
06 Nov 2008 07:36:38 Stansted Out For Delivery.
:D

Lucky git!

I haven't heard back from Apple yet, but I might give TNT a ring and see if they know more...

Edit: Just spoke to TNT - they have no idea what's going on! The guy said the system shows the driver marked the package as delivered to a 'neighbour' at 1330 but then the package was scanned back into the depot at 1830?? Where the hell is my MacBook?! :(

Congrats, what you got coming? Standard pics are needed on delivery. ;) :p

That is simply unacceptable, I would not be off the phone to TNT/Apple until I got an answer then when your phone bill comes through make sure you got the call charges refunded with an angry letter. They can't just leave thousands of pounds worth of your money with random strangers. Its not as if it was left next door to you in any case!

Im glad I got mine delivered via UPS. On delivery I had to show the driver some I.D as well as my signiture before he would give me the package. How it should be done.

Yep, once this is resolved I will certainly be demanding some form of compensation from Apple, who are ultimately responsible for this situation. There are too many cowboys in the courier business and they need to understand that trusting such high end and expensive purchases to monkeys is not acceptable. UPS really are the best of a bad bunch.

How is it Apples fault exactly? They've contracted it out to a third-party whom - I might add - thousands of other businesses use as well.

As for the "high end and expensive purchases" - TNT won't really know nor care about the package contents, the sort of volumes they and other couriers deal with it's not even relevant. I appreciate as the end customer this package is the most important thing in the World to you, but just trying to present some perspective on this. :)

Hope you get it resolved soon.
