A little dis-heartened to hear that in the cockpit view your driver wont take his hand off the wheel. But hey, I wont use the cockpit view all that often.
 
Yeah from an immersion aspect, if your driving a manual car and he never take shis hands off the wheel to change gear, it removes a small amount of realism.

Might not be in the release but could well be implemented at some point.

IGN AU/IGN Readers: When you change gears, will the driver actually change gears with his hand?

John Wendl: He doesn't, right now. We just couldn't get that feature in in time, unfortunately. It was something we looked at, we had it close, but it was a little too buggy for us to put in… what we couldn't reconcile was that it was a very detailed hand with fingers and it actually grips the wheel, and it was difficult to get him to let go of the wheel and do this (moves hand off wheel) without his fingers passing through the wheel, because you don't actually do real collision detection on the wheel, and depending on how it was turned, there's a lot to work out there to get it
, and we just felt like the visual trade-off there was too great. We'd rather have it not do it than look bad. And a lot of cars these days have paddle shifters so you're not going to be doing that anyway, so that's how I've rationalised it at least. (Laughs)​

Yeah I noticed that, half a trailer showing us the 458 razzing about and then we get denied saying we can't drive it until December!? :(
 
I'm going to need a steering wheel for this and seeing as my G25 wont work what are my other options? Am i right in assuming you need to be loaded to get any kind of decent steering wheel setup for the xbox360??

Thats an old article isnt it?
I believe it may of had something to do with the PSU problems they had.
At one point didnt MS replace the original PSU?


As for the 458 great to see it in their.
I think its DLC because of GT5

Ferrari have a very strong partnership with PD as well and I cant see them letting FM3 come along and steal this new car from under Sony. Besides its my guess that the new Ferrari could be the cover car on GT5, oh well maybe not. Guess we might find out by Thursday at TGS

FM3 just moved up a gear with this car and showing all those Ferrari cars lined up.
 
Also didn't Turn 10 say "Ferrari" is exclusive to them? O.o I don't think it is as GT5:P has them + TDU etc. Or maybe they mean certain Ferrari cars?
 
Who really cars about 'special relationships' etc, FM3 has Ferrari's as does GT5 as does most other driving games.

It's a mute point.
