**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S22 Family Thread ****

Probably sounds dense, but what does everyone do with their photos? Just leave them in the gallery, transfer to PC? Do any fancy stuff etc..?

So does the "Lightroom Mobile for Samsung" app on their store actually come with any benefits over regular Lightroom from the Playstore?

Just checked and it shows it currently set at 4gb, is RAM really the issue? I have the device care widget on and have never seen it approach the 8gb limit.

I disabled mine using ADB commands.

But set it to 2GB and see if that helps. A few people have reported that virtual memory is slowing down their devices.

Ah right, I'll try that and see how it goes, if no difference, i'll disable it doing the same.

Thanks for your help.

Can this be disabled without rooting / tripping Knox?
Ah good point, is this just a case of unlocking android developer mode or more to it smokedog?

Root is not required and doesn't trip Knox.

You are just expanding the current Ram Plus function to include 0

RAM Plus Configurations

- adb shell settings put global ram_expand_size_list 0,1,2,4,6,8,12,16
Reboot and select desired RAM PLUS size from Settings, Battery section.

Nice one.

Ace I'll try it later, I kind of feel like maybe I should have gone the 256gb model but really 8gb ram not enough on a phone? Computers still cope gone with 8gb ram and a lot of games

I'd argue 8 GB isn't enough, just like it isn't for PC's either. My Desktop with Chrome, Amazon Music and discord running activity sees over 20 GB RAM usage. Doesn't mean it wouldn't work with only 8 GB, but that comes with a cost, just like it does on a phone.

My S22U is currently using 8.8 GB, that's just with Samsung internet active, nothing running in the background except what the phone is choosing to cache to improve performance. I have seen as high as 10 GB used though. I suspect it won't go higher than that due to memory management conditions.

A phone with less will obviously work too, but given these apps want to use more, they'll run into performance issues with less. With RAM plus I guess that could be lower performance dye to swapping. Without RAM plus processes will just get killed instead and will need to be reloaded as needed.
