The RX Vega 56 Owners Thread

Don't they have a warranty?

I spent nearly £50 on phone calls to them! By the time its shipped back to Germany and no doubt another £50 on phone calls I would have been nearly £300 in. Was just easier to give up at £200 and cut my losses. Better cooling is available so that is what I shall buy :)

Hey all, Quick Question, has anyone had any issues with RMA support for there 56 having put an aftermarket cooler on and then had to RMA it for issues? Only reason I ask as I'm looking at getting a 56 this week and was wondering the best manufacturer to go with I know all the ref cards are base AMD stock but was just wondering about who has the best RMA policy etc?

TIA

Gigabyte have a 3 year UK warranty, and they allow cooler removal so go for that one.

Just pulled the trigger on my first full AMD rig including a 56. My last AMD card was an R6850(!)

What's the best software for over/under clocking these and where should I start? My knowledge is all green team unfortunately.

The radeon driver includes something called Wattman, this is adequate for overclocking/undervolting especially for people new to it.
If you want something more technical i'm sure someone here will help suggest something .

I have a great program for AMD cards that was linked many many posts back but i'm at work and cant remember the name, hopefully someone here will help with its name.

For overclocking, set wattman to "custom" and put the power limit to +50% that'll sort you instantly
If you wanna push further then its about finding the right mv on the p6 and p7 for the core (you'll see what i mean when you look there) i.e lowering them by 50mv and pushing the mhz up.

The same with the hbm, it starts at 800mhz for 56 but you will be able to do 900 without any problem at all.

If you want to take it further again like many of us have, you can flash the bios to a Vega 64 air bios and see even bigger gains. (it has two bios's so don't worry about getting it wrong, it's easy)

have a look on you tube, there are a few guides, im still using the settings from the joker vid apart from i have my ram at 950

Thanks will do. I'm more interested in keeping the temps and noise down so if I can keep it around stock clocks but undervolt it a bit that would be great, is there much leeway with them?

Finally I am liquid cooled !

A very kind will.brand send me his unused Eiswolf cooler, and I combined that with Vince's radiator and it works perfectly now.

I have pictures that i will post after i get over the complete shock that it worked, it turned out that Vince was sold a broken pump on his Cooler part as with will's i heard it instantly make swishy pump water noises when i started the Pc.

I am so very happy right now, rocking the LC bios

Ok so I need once again the help of someone that has an Eiswolf, the problem i am having now is that for 2-3 hours the liquid cooler was perfect i was maxing at 45.C core and hbm under load and 70-80.C on the hotspot.

Then it just lost it and the hotspot very quickly reaches 100.C and shuts the gfx driver down is it the pads ? the thermal paste? Someone please help me, i was soooooo close

So my 56 turned up yesterday, its now in the system and doing nice and the MSI 770 GTX is getting a well deserved rest
