Have you considered an apprenticeship scheme for it? but pay a decent salary?

I have. But I think I can offer a better experience with "on the job" training and the successful person will eventually be a major cog in the IT department. Also, Everyone we have interviewed or received applications from using traditional methods have been, well lets say, below par. Example, on one CV when listing his education history he even included his playschool name and years he attended. I dread to think what skills he learnt. Another has no experience and states "Working in IT isn't my primary goal in life, I would much prefer to be a DJ".. On his CV.. no, really.

yeah I'm getting that a lot with our place, dole dossers applying for jobs because they have to and don't really want them.

I'm not even supposed to be dealing with recruitment but because i'm the IT guy anything about the internet i end up doing including job adverts.

Do you have a local facebook page for the area? always good to ask on there if anyone has an interest in IT. There is always someone that knows someone...

It sounds like a good job and if it was local to me i'd be going for it, sounds more professional than my place, proper training and management instead of just being ignored and cracking on with it and filling in my knowledge gaps as I go along.

That actually looks like a decent job, I've been looking for something similar to that. While I am in Essex I just had a look and that's a bit too far out for me :p. I might know a few people closer to the area who could be interested, I'll let them know about it.

As much as it may seem I'm "bigging it up" a bit, it really would be the perfect entry level job for someone keen on starting a career in IT. It's exactly what I would have wanted 23 years ago when I started out. The type of company we are is also a bit "out of the norm", but that just adds to the interest of the role. Very relaxed office as well, jeans and T shirts are the order of the day! Also, I know some companies say it, but we really are equal opportunities and don't care about gender, disabilities, race or religion, we just want the best person for the job!

The pay will initially be quite low, but we are a true meritocracy so the harder you work and prove yourself the more you can expect to earn come payrise time.

It would be great if you do know someone who may be interested.. Thanks.

why couldn't you be based closer to Wales, I would have loved to apply for it :(

With only a year's worth of IT experience from 3 agency jobs, This would have been perfect for me to finally get on the IT Career ladder.

My sister works for this company, and if I were qualified it's definitely the kind of place I would want to work (what they're working on is pretty cool). Apparently there are a few ocukers working there already.

Anyway, they have loads of vacancies in a lot of different capacities (project manager, graphic design, lots of software dev and engineer roles) based in Bristol near the train station and also in the states.

Check them out

Oh yeah, there is an incentive in place so if you mention her name (Victoria) that would help her out as well.

I'm currently looking for a mid-level network engineer based in the Portsmouth/Southampton area. Ideally looking for someone around the CCNP level (or equivalent knowledge/experience). Knowledge of Cisco telephony or any Juniper/Palo Alto/Check Point firewalls would be an advantage.

You must be able to obtain SC clearance to be successful.

I'm quite happy to discuss the role, so feel free to reach out via trust if you have any questions.

I need 20+ consultants.

If you know anything of any Atlassian tools and want a change then think about these roles. You can work from anywhere in the world if you've got the skills:

https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/adaptavist-jobs?country=gb

If you don't know the Atlassian tools but have consultative skills and can make it to London on 4th March then apply anyway and we'll probably invite you down on that day to drink some beer, have some pizza and get to know each other to see if we can work something out.
