Truthfully? I'm not sure.

I know it sounds cliched as hell, but I am an incredibly quick learner and I get on professionally with people. To this end I'll turn my hand to anything that needs doing.

I realise this doesn't help me much, but I'm struggling to make my degree (which I'll be graduating with in a few months)

I've got a wide variety of jobs on my CV albeit short times in length (ranging from warehouse worker, sales, cleaning, office work etc) due to semester timings.

Basically I need to specialise, but I'm seeing that most jobs want experience, so I need to find myself a job that puts me down a certain path.

On a personal front I have a laymans interest in all things computing, internet and the way it operates (marketing, monetisation of the web through adverts and affiliates) and have run my own sites and stuff.

Long term I'd want to be running my own show, but that truthfully cannot happen without some money behind me.

I thought that might have been the case, a few people from my current work place have gone to tangerine

I know they're my competitor but they're heavily recruiting via agency, have a little root around jobsites, focused on West/North Yorkshire. AFAIK, they're hiring packaging manager and technologist.

I know because there was a sudden wave of enquiries fired at me from local recruiters a week or so ago.

This is a good thread but I am finding it frustrating how I have education to degree level and work experience but I cannot get a job due to a 1 year employment gap recently and also because everywhere expects you to have previous experience.... How can you get experience if nowhere will take you on without experience....

You take on a junior role, put your head down, work hard, grab every opportunity, and take every training course you can get.

How can he do all that if he isnt getting a chance to? He cant even get a job..

It really depends on what job he's applying.

Care to list your degree and field of experience you've got, along with what you're going for / expecting? I don't see why a year gap is the reason why employers are missing you out, unless your CV claims something crazy like a year out smoking weed.

I find some of my friends have too high an expectation just because he/she came out with a 1st class degree, along with some work experience don't automatically entitle them to a job; I've got one that constantly fail at phone interviews, took a few tries before he mastered how and what to prep before getting a job at Smith & Nephew.

If junior roles aren't available, working straight from the bottom at a decent company can help tide things over whilst gaining insights into the company, especially if there's some kind of factory production (in my experience anyway).

In case any graduates to be are interested.

One of the sales position is for South of England, so not just working in and around Pontefract, West Yorkshire.

CV library is pretty decent.

I've found if you give it key words you get decent suggestions. Whenever I've tried other sites, you put "safety" or whatever your keyword is and get 2 job results relating to your requirements and a load of other guff.
