What film did you watch last night?

Brosnan was certainly more suave (and a bit greasier!) which fitted better into the James Bond character.

When Casino Royale came out, I enjoyed the new look of Bond, but it has proven short lived as the remaining two films have shown.

Skyfall - 5/10
Dull, long, boring plot, ridiculous hacking scenes.
I want to like Craig as Bond but I can't. I just don't like his character, and for me all 3 of his films have been poor. Not a patch on Brosnan and GoldenEye.

Skyfall isn't great. Certainly not on the same level as Casino Royale but it's harsh to say Craig isn't as good as Brosnan!

Brosnan was a terrible bond. The worst if you discount Lazenby (he only did one film and it wasn't a "true" bond film imho)

Ben-Hur - True epic from 1959 telling the story of a wealthy jewish merchant at the time of Jesus who comes into conflict with the Romans. This leads him though slavery to Rome and eventually into the famous chariot race, the film is almost worth watching just for the race, very well done! The rest of the film isn't all that special but add it all together and it still comes out as good entertainment, long though. 4/5

Watched Patriot games on saturday night.

4/10, Harrison Ford saved what was other wise a dreadful script, acting and direction.

Plus some hilariously bad "irish" accents from actors like Sean Bean made what should be quite a serious terrorism themed film into basically an action comedy with the IRA portrayed (quite accurately) as one of the most inept evil organisations in the history of man kind.

Watched a lot of movies this weekend, some oldies :)

Phantom Menace: 7/10 - Definitely not as good as the original trilogy, but the kid in me loves the sillyness of the podrace.

Deep Rising: 6/10 - Usual b-movie. Bad acting all round, but it's one of those so bad it's good movies.

Wreck-it Ralph: 5/10 - Felt it was good till it got to the candyland place, then it just seemed to lose all fuel. So much potential with the characters/licensing and most only appeared for 2 seconds.

The Matrix: 9/10 - The fight scene with Neo + Smith gives me goosebumps every time.

Django Unchained: 8/10 - Lots of the n word. Lots of it. Typical Tarantino movie, lots of blood, violence and sillyness. Thought it as good though. Leo di Cap was a bit weak however.

Zero Dark Thirty: 4/10 - Found it very boring. Definitely overhyped. The raid scene at the end felt realistic however. Wouldnt watch this movie again. Same director as The Hurt Locker which got showered with praise. Seems like she only knows how to do war documentaries.

Carrie.

I think I've seen bits of it before, enjoyable. Felt sorry for the main character.

Good 6/10.

The Aviator.

I've seen it before, but wanted to see it again. A very good film.

8/10.

Killing them softly. 6/10

Interesting scenes between characters but ultimately nothing much really happened. Also tired of the Brad Pitt arrogant 'too cool for school' attitude a lot of his roles are based around, if that makes sense

Not strictly so...Point Break, Near Dark and Strange Days are excellent movies.
