It's of a similar standard action-wise to be honest! Story-wise it's an improvement over Taken 2 but that was always likely to struggle given the quality of the first one!
Beware though.... Taken 3 is in the works!!!

Wow.
I thought it was superb, I though Sandra Bullock played her role well.
I enjoyed the story and the acting.
Its a decent feel good watch movie.
It might congratulate the subset you speak of, but it did happen, and all for the best.
I was 50/50 as to whether I ended it all after that film I was so depressed!
