What film did you watch last night?

Captain America: The first avenger.

Enjoyed this quite a bit. The 3 month workout he went through for the body transformation is really impressive. 7.5/10

Anchorman 2. 3/10
Everything about it is bad. The acting was sub par could tell a few of the cast were just there for the cash and jokes were far and few between.

Rush 9/10

Awesome film with some great acting. Racing scenes are some of the best ones ive seen in movies.

American Hustle. ?/10
Stopped watching after 10mins maybe it was the mood we were in but it dragged on for those 10mins. One to try again.

X-Men: Days of Future Past

Following on from First Class, I enjoyed this greatly, saw it in 3D, which was fine, quicksilver scene as others have mentioned was very nicely put together, the future fight scenes with blink were superbly generated, I very much enjoyed it, and now given the reboot, they've done it in a very sensible manner that allows gaps to be filled in whatever way they like.

It was very good, felt very ordered, and hope they continue along these lines.
The final 'joke' regarding 'History' had me LOL before they said the class title.

Occulus 2013 7/10

Ginger bird from Dr Who and BSG's Starbuck in a weird Haunted Mirror/Dorian Gray- ish style Horror flick.
It started well, easy to follow, kinda creepy then runs off the rails into a mind bending mix of stories that explain why you watched the film... Strange ending. Strange film. Kinda predictable but was good enough to keep me interested for the duration.

Don't bother. I dunno how this film got Oscar nominations, let alone made a profit. The RL story is barely interesting either.... :p

Brave

I thought the second half of the movie went downhill somewhat similarly to Wall-E and UP. But I adore the main character, Merida isn't the run of the mill princess and it's set-up is wonderful. You feel like you're in this glorious mystical highland setting. When magic is introduced into the plot through one character, it opens all kinds of possibilities for the plot to unravel in, unfortunately it becomes formulaic and predictable, ceasing Brave from becoming a stand out film, but nonetheless, an enjoyable tale with beautiful animation as we all expect from Pixar.

22 Jump Street - 8/10.

Some of the humour of the original fell short and this suffered the same problem but overall an enjoyable and funny film.

22 Jump Street - 6/10 - I rewatched 21 Jump Street yesterday as a refresher so it didn't surprise me that this was more of the same, although the film cleverly referenced this a lot :D There was a few chuckles through-out but the the scene which got the whole cinema roaring with laughter was when Tatum suddenly "realised something" in Ice Cube's office, I laughed for about a minute solid! I don't think there's any more to come from the setup so it's a good film to end on.

A million Ways to die in the West.

It's actually quite funny, some of the jokes are a little out there and not politically correct that makes you cringe a LOT of times but it did make me laugh. Plenty of cameos from a lot of people (the one in the shed near the end made me to WTF!).

p.s. Charlize Theron does not look almost 40 !

7/10
