What film did you watch last night?

I had a Tom Cruise fest at the weekend and watched the following:

Edge of Tomorrow - Really enjoyed this sci-fi, which had a different feel to it. Emily Blunt looked tough and I wouldn't mind a roll around with her :) - 8/10

The Last Samurai - Excellent movie, with fantastic cinematography and music. To me this is one of Tom's best movies. - 9/10

Tropic Thunder - Very funny, with plenty of stars showing a comedic side to their acting. 8/10

Dune 6/10
Not seen this in years, but still found it a bit ponderous and slow and the ending is rather abrupt. The effects though still look decent enough for the age of it.

John Carter (of Mars), I know people will hate me for this but I really like this film.
8/10

I don't hate you. I thought it was a really good movie too :D

Didn't really follow why it had so much criticism

The Raid 2. Pretty good. Made me chuckle in a few places, 6/10.

Nothing beats double claw hammer girl but I love both of them ;)

Indeed. It's bizarre that they get up in arms about some things and others get a free pass.

Go talk about modchips in the console section, see how far that gets you.

I wonder how many members actually go this route ;).

I have no problem with it, I just find it very hypocritical of the moderators to tolerate it.

Tolerate what?

The only person hinting at anything illegal here is you, don't do it.

Use the RTM function if you see something you feel unhappy with.

Sabotage, glad that Arnie is making films again, this wasn't one of his best by a long shot but was perfectly watchable. 5.5/10.

I thought 'The Last Stand' was alright, I haven't seen 'Sabotage' yet.
Just read that Arnie's back in Terminator 5 out next year as a wrinkly T-800 (yep, he's back as a Terminator with 'aged' skin)

I don't see this thread stricty as a film I watched last night, more like a film I watched recently. I don't really have time to post the film I just watched every time, sometimes I forget or busy and post about it later. Sometimes it is better to let that sit for a bit and get the initial euphoria over before giving it judgment.

It's worth a watch certainly. I quite enjoyed The Last Stand too.

Apparently I've read something about it being because it is living tissue which covers the metal endoskeleton it'd age just like normal... not sure if that is the 'official' reasoning though :p

He is also going to do Triplets as a sequel to Twins and the Legend of Conan :D

Coherence (2013)

On the night of an astronomical anomaly, eight friends at a dinner party experience a troubling chain of reality bending events. Part cerebral sci-fi and part relationship drama, COHERENCE is a tightly focused, intimately shot film that quickly ratchets up with tension and mystery.

Fantastically original and well acted Sci-Fi, Hollywood needs to produce more great stuff like this. Highly recommended :-)

The Hunt (2012)

A teacher lives a lonely life, all the while struggling over his son's custody. His life slowly gets better as he finds love and receives good news from his son, but his new luck is about to be brutally shattered by an innocent little lie.

Great Danish film powerfully demonstrating the disastrous consequences of little lies and how peoples paranoia can create things that don't exist in reality !

Transformers Age of Extinction.

Loved it just as much the second time. Grimlock is sorely under used though.

Can't wait to see it again.
