What film did you watch last night?

The Maze runner. 5/10

Just got back from seeing it... Wow another teenage novel turned into a film trilogy aka Hunger games.

118 mins of Lord of the Flies meets man Katniss Everdeen with some kind of plague BS and robot spiders.

I wont be going to watch the sequels. It wasnt a boring film and it has a dramatic cliffhanger ending setting up the 2nd one, but its toss tbh. Asked the GF how it ends and read the wiki.

Sounds like a load of bad new world order sci-fi written for teenage girls.

American Hustle - 8/10

Perhaps not fully deserving of its awards but it was a good film nonetheless. Great performance from Christian Bale though, absolutely superb and a nice twist at the end.

Pompeii 0/10.

Absolute ****e. Terrible dialogue delivered with the acting ability of a 2 legged hippos turd.

Hehe!

The only thing it was good for was the wide angle 3D shots of the volcano exploding and maybe SOME fight scenes in the arena. Sutherland was terrible in this and he wasn't alone. His accent was truly dreadful too.

Over the last few nights I have watched...

VHS & VHS2 pretty good but the "watching someone else's tape" visuals get a bit tedious.
Bad Neighbours - Funny in bits, particularly the "airbag scenes, 6/10.
Under the Skin, got 40 mins in and thought this is just too wierd so 0/10

Goldfinger at the Adam Smith Theater. allot dressed up in Tuxedos :D for its 50th anniversary this year and was a great night out.

A Haunted House - Absolute dross. Barely raised a smile. I'll give it 2 for the occasional amusing moments from Marlon Wayans 2/10

Harry Brown - Good film. A bit dark and depressing, but I suppose that was the intention. Good performance from Plan B. Really convincing. Hated him. 7/10

Edge of Tomorrow - 8/10

Was expecting it to just be an all out mindless 3D action flick, but it was actually very good. Think I have also got a crush developing on the lovely Emily Blunt :o.

I've just watched Tron, original 1982 film on blu-ray. The re-master / transfer is absolutely bloody stunning! It's one of those films that highly benefit in HD if you've only so far seen the VHS/DVD version. I don't know how they managed the 3D graphics back then? Surely in 1982, the average processor was only 4MHz?

Pride - 9/10

Brilliant! I was told it was like a cross between The Full Monty & Brassed Off - well, it was better than both of those!

Funny, moving, inspirational - a great British movie/comedy through and through

Under the skin...will just echo what I posted on FB straight afterwards...

What a load of pretentious arty nonsense, all style, zero substance. If this didn't star Scarlett Johannsen I imagine no one would really care about it. I want my 2 hours back.

I have a high tolerance for films that try to do something different, this was just dull nonsense and a chance to glance at SJ naked body which frankly is nothing special with the clothes off, she looks better with them on. The last 5 minutes picked up slightly therefore it earns 2 points for a 2 out of 10.
