What film did you watch last night?

Ninja Assassins - I though this was going to be an epic film but I really got disappointed. It should have never been an English spoken film, the story was really weak, especially the second half. The old Ninja films are way better in every possible way.

2/10

The Fourth Kind really is an appalling film.

Half the cinema was in hysterics listening to that stupid bint croon throughout the film. She looked more alien that the aliens.

Panzer

Inglourious ********.

How in the name of all that's good and true did this not win one of the best film/production/screenplay Oscars?

Okay, it had a completely incongruous David Bowie song in there, but c'mon... even that's not reason enough!

Waltz's performance was superb, and a worthy win - but that's just half the story; the character had to be written, and I think more credit is due to Tarantino's scripting skills.

Excellent, excellent film, in every respect.

Did it? Which one and whereabouts?

Totally agreed. No point in anyone else being nominated for supporting actor really. :D Bet you didn't know that Tarantino was originally thinking of getting Leonardo di Caprio to play Hans Landa? :p:eek:

Cat People (Putting Out the Fire), apparently. Near the beginning of chapter 5, with Shosanna getting ready for the evening.

All the other modern Tarantino flourishes - the slo-mo, the use of graphics to point out characters - worked really well, but the Bowie song completely jarred with everything else the film was trying to do, sadly. :(

Yeah, I just read that. No disrespect to di Caprio, but can you imagine?!? :D

Taken - just watched it again after using it for stills, good movie. :)

Yeah, I liked this one. As the film progressed I found it steadily got better. I wasn't sure at first though. For the first twenty minutes to half an hour I did start to wonder if was going to be mediocre at best. Fortunately I was wrong.

Triangle

That was actually pretty good, a decent little piece of mind twisting cinema and certainly isn't your traditional horror film. Does leave few major things unanswered though and few plot holes to be found so this isn't what you'd call a classic. However, it is nice to see a horror film that tries something different for once particularly in today's world of slasher teen movies (and real shame it flopped at the box office) so a 7/10 from me.

The Matrix

A classic, A masterpeice, A wonderful film on so many levels.

I never get tired of watching this.

Yeah, I was only skimming through it for the first 20 mins or so, and then found myself watching it. Some people say that Neeson was miscast in that film, but I thought he was brilliant in it.

If people enjoyed Taken. I urge you to watch Man on Fire, it's a similar film but imo, much much better.
