What film did you watch last night?

Watched Terminator Genisys. Not as terrible as expected. Emelia Clarke is a bit too cute and chipper to be the properly hard Sarah Connor even though she was styled to look like Linda Hamilton in T2, but it was full of big effects and time travel plot hole silliness. They didn't even bother to explain
who sends Pops back to protect her, though they could have handwaved and said it was another future timeline that no longer exists
because they'd kind of painted themselves into a corner.

It was a good trick to figure out a way to bring an ageing Arnie back into the role of the T800 (which is after all why we watched the first films), but the franchise seems to have run out of surprises and fresh ideas.

But Emelia Clarke. I don't watch Game Of Thrones, but she doesn't half give me a funny feeling in my insides.

Well you should go and watch it, as it is the best thing on TV :) You have plenty of time to cram in 5 Seasons before next April :D

TBH my wife watches it and has read the books, so I know it the same way a stone skipping across a lake knows the water. ie just enough to know I'm not that interested.

Harry Potter, Facebook, mobile phones, tablets, Strictly, etc. Loads of stuff you can't avoid because they are part of the background zeitgeist and you will soak up the state of play, but really don't interest me when I'd rather spend my time doing other things.

Well at least your Wife has good taste in TV :p I didn't think I would like it when I first watched it, as I am not really a fan of the Fantasy genre. Once I watched the 1st episode though, I knew that I had to watch the rest as it was that good.

The Den. The internet is bad because it's weird and scary and full of serial killers. Apparently.

3/10.

Megan is Missing. Surprisingly intelligent contribution to the found footage genre. Suffers from bad pacing in the third act.

6/10.

Creep. Stunning indy psychological thriller.

8/10.

I watched 'Into the Wild' again last night on Netflix. Film about a college graduate who drops out and heads off into the Alaskan wilderness to live. Good film with some great performances. 8/10

Watched Wall-E with my girlfiend last night as she hadn't seen it and claimed she "wouldn't like it".

She loved it, I still love it, and now she's going to buy me a lego Wall-E.

Spectacular win/10.

Godzilla (2014) meh.... pretty poor really. Edward's 'Monsters' is a far better film; here he seems out of his depth... and the two best actors killed off so soon

4.5/10
