What film did you watch last night?

Watched Deadpool yesterday, thought it was excellent. Didn't develop the plot enough though with the baddy, but still thoroughly enjoyed and that's what a film is about at the end
 
Oblivion, had it on our Sky planner since the xmas period, will give it 8/10. For all his real world "eccentricities" Tom (nearly) always delivers a decent watchable movie.

*I say "nearly" as there is bound to someone point out an absolute turkey and prove me wrong :)
 
The Hateful Eight

Enjoyable flick, but yeah, erm.....not much else to say, maybe not even a 7/10.....who know, lol.

The dialogue was ace though.
 
Ted 2 5/10 mediocre at best, other than nerd fight scene that trickled me.
Full metal jacket 10/10 enough said
Inside man 10/10 I know I go against the grain on this, but bank robbery film.
2 guns 6/10 disappointing, was obviously mistakenly expecting more for some reason.

I usually support Leo no matter what as I think he is the best actor in the world, but I think I'd actually prefer Matt Damon to win the Oscar this time. Great film.

Considering he is in control the whole time.I fail to understand why people think this film is great.

Film fascinates me.
 
Well, last night it was...

The Transporter Refueled (DVD) - Meh! No great surprises, just more of the same. Personally I prefer Jason Statham playing the part. 5/10

Fmj is never 10/10. The first half is 10/10, the rest maybe 6 or 7.

Inside Man is great, but a lot of that is just because it's got Clive Owen in. As an aside, The Croupier is well worth a watch.
 
Deadpool - 8/10

Was good, but not as good as the hype made out to be, felt like more needed to happen, it finished when it felt like it was maybe half way through. Funny jokes and breaking the 4th wall was good.

^ Above, Inside Man was great, there was supposed to be a sequel but it got cancelled unfortunately.

I've read reviews that has described this as nothing more than another Carry On film.

I love the TV show but decided to avoid this as quite honestly you are never going to beat the original cast.
 
Alien Outpost

Another random Netflix watch, surprisingly similar to Monsters: Dark Continent. It's set in Pakistan in the aftermath of an alien invasion. A lonesome band of soldiers are the last, underfunded and unloved, band hunting down the remaining "heavies". It's also shot as a fake documentary but not a particularly well done one. It's okay, the soldiers are bit more believable than in most movies but it's not a great film by any measure.

About Time - 9/10

What can I say, what an adorable film. I loved it from start to finish, the wonderful characters and the chemistry between them all. The acting from the cast was spot on. Loved Bill Nighy's performance. The soundtrack, the setting, everything was great. Left me with a lump in my throat many times too.

Highly recommended.
 
The Martian - 8/10

My expectations weren't high and apart from the massive jumps in story line, missing explanations and questionable physics it left me with a weird sense of hope for humanity.
 
TBH I'd completely given up with Ridley Scott after the epic fail that was Exodus and Pro meh theus ( yes he had to work with who the producers wanted in the leading roles but ffs he could have said no)

So rather than waste more time and energy on another disappointment, I bought the book, which as it turned out, was actually quite a good read.

So the Blu Ray is on for Friday. Looking to restore some hope from the Alien Man.
