What film did you watch last night?

The Jungle Book (2016) - 9/10

A visual spectacle which is fantastically put together and a real treat to watch.
The classic plot and characters are as thrilling and entertaining to watch as ever, and all the animals both look and act realistically.
The songs are shoe-horned in, but remain as catchy as ever, and are also slightly at odds with the overall darker (but still light) tone and setting.

Baskin. Mehmet Cerrahoglu ('the ugliest man in Turkish cinema') delivers an outstanding performance in this grisly neo-Ottoman horror.

6.5/10.

San Andreas - I quite enoyed it. Was it a good movie, nope. Have I seen many a movie that are a lot worse, yep.

I don't mind 'Grab the popcorn and leave your brain' at the door movies.

Oh, and I aint gonna complain about the bouncy bewbs ;)

All I've been hearing about San Andreas is the bouncy boobs, or that's what my brain dick has been filtering out of people's reviews.

I watched the Lincoln Lawyer last night. A solid film 7.5/10.

I don't think you can go wrong with Matthew McConaughey, solid performance in this.

Alien and Aliens at the cinema. Missed it the 1st time round and finally caught them on the big screen! I have the Blurays somewhere...

I think half the cinema went to the toilet during Alien, not at the same time, including me!

9/10 for both.

I watched all 8 Harry Potter films over the past two days. Still very much enjoyable, but damn... ~19 hours of pure cringe. :p I couldn't remember them ever being that bad for it. Daniel Radcliffe is absolutely atrocious at acting too.

The Manchurian Candidate (2004). 6/10

My take on it- Intriguing story, good acting, really poorly directed. It is all over the place and needlessly confusing, with unrelated scenes chained together making little sense.

The Revenant

Second time of watching and still enjoyed it. That scene with the bear was quite remarkable. It was so realistic and yet it had to be CGI. I'd like to know how they filmed that scene. The film though is a brutal depiction of frontier life in America. Visually stunning.

Zootopia (2016)

My wife isnt into action/scifi/anything remotely interesting so had to settle for something animated. Not going to lie... I kind of enjoyed it. Has some big names voicing the characters (Idris Elba, Jason Bateman, Shakira etc). Its something the kids will enjoy for sure.

I'm really jealous. Alien is my favorite movie of all time and would love to have seen it on the big screen. To this day i've yet to find a movie that can instill the same deep down fear that Alien did and frankly, even as a grown man, still does.

Burnt - 5.5/10

It was fine, something different being a film about cooking/chef etc but in reality, it was pretty forgetful. Nothing particularly interesting or exciting about it. Nice story but it was passable for a Tuesday night film. Bradley Cooper was decent.

Glengarry Glen Ross. Alan Arkin and Jonathan Pryce star in James Foley's controversial cinematic adaptation of David Mamet's poorly received minimalist interpretation of Arthur Miller's moderately successful Death of a Salesman.

It's quite good.

8/10.

Very good film i thought. Very creepy/messed up. That actor is quite incredible to look at!!...thought it was makeup at first.

Cerrahoglu has a horrifically powerful screen presence.

If you haven't seen it, Jon Favreau's Chef is quite enjoyable.
