What film did you watch last night?

Lego Scooby-Doo! Haunted Hollywood

Watched this with my 6yo daughter. Didn't think much of it, don't think she did either. Certainly the worst Lego movie I've watched.

3/10

Neighbours 2: Sorority Rising

8/10 - Was laughing out loud to myself which doesn't usually happen. Remember seeing the first one and thinking it was better than it should have been but this was generally funny, sweet and well put together. Have to say would like to see a comedy with Zac Efron and Channing Tatum now, 2 stereotyped guys who have fantastic comedic timing and play off their stereotypes.

Approaching the Unknown
a very confused and poor film, think the only thing which went through the writers/directors(same person) mind was jump on the mars bandwagon and make some money.

3/10

Out of interest, does it have the scene that wasn't in the original, where they explain all human tech had been derived from the downed Roswell ship, and thus when the aliens turned up they had easy access to all our networks and shut everything down with the virus, as it was all based upon their tech?
Or was this scene still cut?

No, that scene isn't in it.

Film was awful, nothing actually happens. The Martian cash in but they replaced potatoes with a water purifier.

10 Cloverfield Lane

Nice film for 90%, but the ending was extremely tacked on full of various levels of B$ nonsense. Would have been better if it ended on a 'shock' rather than have that 10 minute long action sequence.

Still a decent and recommended film tho !!

Rather than that ending sequence, it would've been better if it ended with MEW reverting to her natural form and being debriefed aboard the craft about how humans react under extreme pressure.

London Has Fallen (2016)

proper ****/10

with so many big names how could it be so bad.

wow. non-swear word is banned? won't be using that again :D

Interesting, I didn't know until years later that such a scene had been filmed, and then was left on the cutting room floor, just would have explained away massive loops in the various plotholes of the films. How could 'the fly' reprogram alien ships, how could he figure anything out at all? and there was the explanation. Meh, still woop whoop 'merica. ho-ra!

Old boy - wife picked this... Think she regretted it!
I enjoyed it... The ending though .

Guy gets locked in a room for 20 years before escaping and trying to find
out who wronged him. Pretty violent.
You get to see one of the Olsen twins in the buff
6/10 now 7/10 for that last bit.

It's on Netflix

Not one of the twins, their sister :p

Victoria - 7.8 / 10

A young Spanish woman who has newly moved to Berlin finds her flirtation with a local guy turn potentially deadly as their night out with his friends reveals a dangerous secret.

Very good film, although it starts out quite slow the way the story unfolds just grips you and you are immersed into the story.

The amazing thing about this film though, is its 2hrs 18mins and it was done in 1 take (well, 3 tries, and the 3rd was chosen, but it's 1 unbroken shot for the whole film)

So it really is just following this group of drunk partying young adults, talking **** in the early hours after the clubs (a lot of the dialogue was improvised) but the way the story turns and gets out of control is great

The Nice Guys,

Smart, witty, good performances although a predictable twist, saw that coming soon as Basinger came on and introduced herself.

That said, was thoroughly entertained.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 (Out of the Shadows) (2016) 8/10

I never did watch the original rebooted which came out a couple of years back, but my son loved it.

He wanted to watch either this or Angry Birds.....so it was a no brainer really.

I had zero expectations and I really enjoyed it. Despite the fact its all CGI I thought it was a great movie, and now I am gonna have to dig out my son's copy of the first one and watch that as well.
