What film did you watch last night?

Was good...highlighted how the US is bonkers with the way in which its governed and how European countries have a lot of sense.

Great, I saw the trailer the other day and was interested. I was watching

Mustang - 7.5 / 10

A Turkish film about 5 sisters being brought up in a rural, very conservative Turkish village by their uncle and grandmother who are outraged by their (completely normal) behaviour and set up arranged marriages

Funny, sad, tragic, an uncomfortable view into staunch conservatism that is still rife around the world.

Not sure if troll?

First Avenger is one of the worst MCU movies while on the other end of the spectrum Winter Soldier is one of the best...IMO of course :)

I still really liked it, it just didn't hold my attention as well. All personal opinion and it's usually me that holds a different one as I tend to like things others don't haha.

Watched this a few weeks back. Hard watch, but very good.

Eye in the sky 4/10
US technology propaganda
Also I doubt they put emphatic people in charge of drone strikes.
Many news stories has many civilians losing their lives in reality.

I think you've been autocorrected as 'empathetic' would be more suitable here. :) Unless the drone pilot in question (I have seen the film) was really keen on dropping the munitions. ;)

13 Hours - The Secret Soldiers Of Benghazi 8/10

Really enjoyed this film.

Only heard of the Benghazi attack from watching programs like the Daily Show and basically how the poor sods had to fend for themselves whilst the politicians sat on their hands :(

One thing that it has taught me, to be a PMC you have to rock some serious facial hair :D

Mortar attack sequence was spectacular

Agreed, very good film, although I knew nothing about it, also 8/10

The Amazing Spiderman (2012) - so bored during it I couldn't stop browsing my phone to help pass the time! Waaaay to CGI heavy and not really entertaining imo.

Far preffered the tobey maguire films - a bit more fun and comical. I know 3 kinda went off the rails but everything seemed grander? The villian in this film seemed weak by comparison...

Inception - 9/10

Still one of the greatest of all time for me. The cinematography and visual effects are incredible, the acting is spot on as you'd expect from such a great cast and the soundtrack is stunning too, especially Time.

I think the only thing that annoys me is Ellen Page's character. She's far too naggy and nosey. She's annoying almost immediately after meeting Cobb.

deapool

maybe I was tired but not sure why all the love. felt like they were trying too hard with the comedy. entertaining enough I guess, not something I'd watch again though

6 out of 10 (gave it an extra 0.5 due to the bird out of Serenity :D)

10 Cloverfield Lane

really enjoyed it and thought John Goodman was suitably creepy/of his nut. as said numerous times though the ending seemed a bit tacked on - possibly leaving the door open for another film?

7.5 out of 10

Hardcore Henry 1/10
might seem harsh, but if I cant finish watching a film, how can it score anything but 1. IMDB don't allow 0 score.

House Party.
90s cheese, still a few funny bits in it, but its aged badly, not that it was great to begin with. 3/10

Hackers
more 90s cheese, but I still think its a great film 7/10

The Nice Guys (2016) - 8/10

A real mixed bag of a movie, with action, comedy, slapstick farce, kooky 70’s weirdness, violence, and nudity.

The strong leads really grow on you and compliment the atmospheric 70’s setting, but the film just seems to bumble along, and as such, feels too long.

The story does have enough going on to keep you interested, although it does take a while to get going at the start.
