What film did you watch last night?

The Bounty Hunter
I actually really enjoyed this movie, sure it wasn't the most sophisticated but it was thoroughly enjoyable! - 7/10

Låt den rätte komma in (Let the Right One In).

I'm in two minds about this. On the plus side, it was good to see a vampire movie aimed at intelligent adults, and where there was no attempt to prettify or sanitise the vampires. Lina Leandersson was superb as Eli, although apparently the voice was supplied by someone else. The bleak photography was great as well, albeit pinched wholesale from Ingmar Bergman.

On the downside Kåre Hedebrant was less impressive as Oskar, and he really needed a haircut - I'm not surprised he was picked on. The film also sanitised things a bit compared to what I have heard about the book (which I haven't read) - for instance the exact nature of the relationship between Eli and her keeper.

Watched "Dr. Strangelove or: How I learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb" last night, very interesting film and quite enjoyable though I don't know why they bothered to call it Dr. Strangelove as the character was not even in the film for more than ten minutes.

Some great performances by Peter Sellers:

"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room." :D

The Descent: Part II. Mouthfoamingly dreadful, with a poor quality set. In some scenes you can actually see "rocks" wobbling as they are bumped by the cast.

I remember when Douglas Hodge was a respectable actor! Did he really need to sell his soul for this? Considering the box office returns, I reckon he could have made more money rummaging down the back of the settee!

Oh Douglas! You poor daft ****! :(

A Prophet.

utterly superb. must see etc etc

That the French film?

I didn't think it was 'superb', but fairly good. It dragged on way too much, and nothing really happened for a lot of the time.

I did enjoy it and thought it was decent enough, but was lacking something to make it 'special' in some way.

Haha I saw this couple weeks ago, definately not as good as the 1st one! Apparantly there is going to be a number 3..

Harry Brown – A powerful film with Michael Cain at his best. Quite violent but then what do you expect, this is the way some of parts of town are. I’m glad I don’t live on a council estate. Excellent.

I thought it was a documentary about North Peckham.

The Fifth Element. Thought it was medicore, don't know why people rate this as decent sci-fi.

Not in the same league as Paul Verhoeven's stuff, if it was going for a slightly comedy angle...
