What film did you watch last night?

Bit of a Pierce Brosnan Bondathon for me over the weekend.

Tomorrow Never Dies - a more modern baddie for Bond but not much of interest. 3/5

The World is not Enough - convoluted plot about kidnapping, nuclear bits and bobs and a big pipe. Most notable for saying goodbye to Desmond Llewellyn. 3/5

Die Another Day - more action oriented but with too many gadgets and nonsense. It wasn't all bad but it was time to shake it up. Back to basics with Casino Royal. 3/5

The House

By-the-numbers comedy featuring SNL peeps. Perfectly amusing, and good bloopers.

6/10

Rough Night

As above, by-the-numbers, but with enough funny moments to make it worthwhile.

6/10

The Invitation

Single location thriller, fairly predictable, but still delivered in an interesting manner. Nice little twist right at the end.

6/10

Primer - ?/10

Yeah, this needs another viewing. Watched a youtube explanation of it and i hopefully wont be lost the second time around. Pretty novel time traveling film though.

Kickboxer. Don't know how I ever managed to miss this one as I love a good old 80's action movie. Like rocky mixed with karate kid on steroids!

Yup great movie. Checkout Bloodsport too

Classic JCVD films.

Check out Universal Soldier, The Quest & Lionheart (AWOL), I like them because of my youth but not everyone will.

Alien Covenant - 7/10

Actually reading all the reviews and opinions absolutely roasting this I expected this to be a lot worse, when I ignored the obvious moments of stupidity from some of the crew it wasn't actually too bad.

It's an ok movie. I think it gets a hard time as it's nowhere near as good as alien or aliens.

That and the dumb decisions the characters make :p

Baby Driver - 8/10

Very good film I thought, thoroughly entertained all the way through. The music selection and the acting and the characters stories played out really well.

Two Night Stand: Miles Teller (who looks like a giant baby cherub) and Analeigh Tipton (who looks like a cute squirrel) are snowed into his apartment the morning after they have a one-night stand. They've both got issues, but trapped together, they are forced to actually get to know each other over the next day. Nicely acted, it's a slightly more grown up story of two people connecting. The dialogue is snappy and clever, and both actors are immensely watchable, which is a good thing, as most of the film is them talking to each other in the apartment. There's a twist, and an expected (clichéd) ending, but I really liked it.

There's some sex talk and a non-explicit sex scene, so it probably not something to watch with granny, but if you liked "Friends With Benefits", or "No Strings Attached", you'll probably like this.
