What film did you watch last night?

Mindhorn 7/10

It was ok. Occasional chortle, well acted and cast, just a slightly ott take on spoofing old cop dramas.

I went to this in Odeon Screen Unseen and walked out after 30mins…I have never done that before. I don't think I am the target audience at all.

Bladerunner: Final Cut(1982)

First thing you notice is how it holds up visually, every scene, everywhere and it all stood the test of time. Mechanical effects and puppetry means it still looks real and why it is amazing, at least eye candy.

As a story….its slow, lots of long scenes with pauses and a much simpler story on the surface than I remembered, I know there is a underlying concept and theory of whether Decker himself is a replicant and his relationship with Rachel is one whether human can fall in love with a replicant and vice versa, as the main story wise, it's very simple and may be a little dull. There doesn't seem to be any twist of sorts.

Still, good prep for the sequel out next week! can't wait.

The story IS the twist. There was nothing like this ever before. Literally every minute of it was new concept - the plot, the visuals, the sounds, everything.

Went to see Mother a couple of nights ago.

Very intense, challenging. At the end I turned to my friend and said "I feel about this like I do about all Darren Aronofsky movies: it was good and let's never watch it again."

8/10

I respect bladerunner for its originality but I don't find it a very entertaining film and I actually think it's a bit overrated from that perspective.

I've watched The Amazing Spiderman which I'd rate at about 6/10
It's not as bad as I'd heard but only really average, although I liked a few of the touches where he was making use of spider like abilities not normally shown in the films.

The Amazsing Spiderman 2 again about 6/10
Again nothing special although one surprise, a serviceable superhero type film.

Both were from poundland :D

Alien covenant again, still poor.

The gore was good but the storyline is so poor.

You’ve got a pilot willing to risk every life on the ship to save his wife, a captain who openly sticks his head into an unknown alien egg..

I've given up on the Alien series now. It has been poor film after poor film. Only 1 and 2 are of interest. I doubt I will watch any new ones unless the reviews are stunning.

Wonder woman - a lot better then i thought it was gonna be.. 7/10

Spiderman - homecoming 8/10 prefer the new spidy kid was funny too.

At the time, in terms of there was nothing like this ever before, the movie bombed at the box office. Only late on that it gained popularity over time through VHS.

Watched a film called Arq, it’s a Netflix film that reminded me of the Tom cruise film Edge of tomorrow where he wakes up every time he dies.

Pretty meh tbh :o

It bombed at the box office because it was released at the same summer month as E.T., Poltergeist, Rocky III, Star Trek II and Tron. During that month Blade Runner and The Thing inevitably suffered and ended up being "second choice".

Spiderman Homecoming 7.0/10 decent marvel flick. Enjoyed it more than IM3 and CA:TFA but its below Winter Soldier, Deadpool and Civil War.

Dont knock twice. 6/10 ok film for complete scaredy cats because there are soooo many cheap jump scares. You wont be scared anymore. Everything very cliched about it but good if you still want to keep your horror training wheels on. (its probably a 4/10 for horror fans)
