What film did you watch last night?

Late night with the Xfiles on more 4.

Seen this film many times before, allways rolled with it, love the mulder/scully thing, the sinister to go with.

Downloaded my favourite geekcast film reviewers view of film today for the treadmill this morning... man do they rip it up, tainted me view for evermore.

What was a good 8 became a average 5... bad idea listening to those picky geeks:(

The Pianist

A very slow moving film about the Holocaust. The story follows the life of a Jewish pianist who's job is put on hold whilst the Germans invade Warsaw. Many graphic disturbing scenes and doesn't do anything to hide how difficult it must have been to live as a Jew during WW2, a very solid film by Roman Polanksi

8/10

So many references to other films.
When I watched this for the first time in the cinema, I was consciously aware of the fact that I was smiling throughout the opening sequence at how much fun as a movie fan Tarantino was having making that. Brilliant.

Watched Adam & Paul again last night.
Such a good film.

High Lane - group of friends use a closed trail through the mountains using a Via ferrata - 6/10.

Started off well but tailed off towards the end.

Saw the original Katate Kid last night. Didn't realise just how much of a remake the new one is, almost shot for shot. Original still wins out, daniel larousso much better actor, and the fact that they are slightly older, (16 vs 12ish) somehow makes the violence and the flirtations more palatable. Jackie Chan is the only plus for the new version, his fighting scenes as always pretty fun.

The Core

Just watched this on TV and I have to admit I have a soft spot for disaster films. Well I did until the recent wave of Day After Tomorrow and 2012 which started taking themselves way too seriously and killed it all to me. This one is one of the old fashioned films that is silly and not scared of admitting it and just goes with that flow till the end. Did trail off in the end though but not bad for a Sunday afternoon.

5/10

After watching tsunami caught on camera last night its changed my view on disaster films. Watching a man just stare at a giant wave and not attmept to run then get swept away makes you wonder what was going through his mind.
