What film did you watch last night?

Managed to watch two dreadful Adam Driver films back to back

Paterson (3/10) Borning and slow about pretty much nothing

White Noise (2/10) Incoherent mess
LOL at the review on the main page for White Noise "Think of a psychedelic trip by someone who likes the smell of their own farts and decided to write it down" I can see this reviewer going places

Days of Thunder - one of my all time favs :D
Love this film

Avatar - way of water.

9/10 for the special effects and animation.
4/10 for the story and everything else

Overall 5.5/10

A beautifully dull film that could have lost a hour of its runtime with no issues and the story goes absolutely nowhere apart from to set up Avatar 3. Cliche ridden and tried unsuccessfully to give you an emotional attachment to the characters that simply wasn't there.

haha I remember I got the DH2 VHS for xmas, must have worn that tape out. The first film is fantastic as is Alan Rickman, but I just prefer the setting/scenario and the side characters of the sequel.
Ah just watched Robin Hood Prince of theives (8/10) and wondered where I'd seen Alan Rickman before. He's excellent.

Both great films.

After watching Die hard 1 last night, Think am going to watch Die Hard 2 tonight
I No have the 4k blu-ray version of this one but I do have the 4K HDR version on iTunes :D

Couldn’t believe how young Bruce looked in Die Hard 1  the years just seem to fly past so quickly these days :(
Saw Bruce in a 1994 film called Nobody's Fool. Man he looked young there. Receeding hairline already began.

Nobodys fool looks excellent on 4k disc.

The last three nights have been spent watching Lord of the Rings extended edition 4k HDR.

Screw every other film in history, I do this every year and they are still the best.

10 out of 10
Yea I also finished the extend versions. The ghost army came and swarmed everyone and there was just sudden silence. Could have been a bit better, maybe fight the wraiths, show more close ups instead of zoomed out.

Saruman was defeated easily. Didn't realise until now that Sauron never physically showed up to fight. The heck was that all about? Also orcs seemed to have been 'nerfed' at the end acting scared when the soldiers started fighting back.

Imo not 10/10 but still a very decent trilogy.

Gonna start on Hobbit trilogy, extended versions.

Top Gun: Maverick - 2/5

No idea why this was rated so highly, nostalgia perhaps, but I found it to be pretty boring and forgettable until the last 20 minutes. The first film sucked too but at least that had a fantastic soundtrack.

Sicario - 4/5

Fantastic film but I can't help feeling it would've been better had del Toro's character been sent to Hollywood to hunt down and assassinate the writer of Top Gun: Maverick.
