What film did you watch last night?

Watched a couple of westerns.

First was McClintock, my favourite John Wayne film. I really enjoy the characters and humour.

Then Hostiles, acting was spot on, cinematography was lovely, audio great.

Just watched Hereditary.

I wasn't sure what to expect as I only remember seeing the trailers but knew it was one I really wanted to see.

I wasn't disappointed and loved it!

The music at the end was just perfect and like the icing on a cake.

9/10.
I really enjoyed it, too, though I think I liked it even more during the second viewing. It's one, like Midsommer, that you will probably notice more details each time you revisit it.
If you haven't seen Midsommer, then please do! ;)

Yeah I think I'll probably feel the same as there were so many "WTF" moments! Lol!

Midsommer is another that I haven't seen but keep hoping it'll come up on film4 or something like that so I can watch it!

Yea, really good film.

If you were impressed with the 1 take method then you should try Victoria (2015)

Nearly 2.5 hrs long all in 1 take. Its brilliantly done as it moves about all over Berlin and doesnt restrict itself to 1 location. Good film too.

+1 on this, victoria is a great film. It took them a few times to film it as the director really wanted the actors to create a bond and make it seem like they were out on a wild night together

And they really nailed it in the end, the tension just continues to rise, it really feels like you're there at times. Might even rewatch it now

Thanks for the recommendation. I just watched Victoria on that recommendation and it's a fabulous film. Incredibly well shot, good story and great acting particularly from the lead actress Laia Costa. A solid 9/10. Definitely worth a watch. Now off to find what else she is in as she really nailed it.

Is victoria on any of the usual streaming sites?
Watched m3gan earlier, pretty good special effects and the mrs was propper creeped out by the doll so that made it more entertaining, story wasnt great and was very predictable.
6.5/10

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. After a really poor slate of MCU Phase 4 films it was nice to have the light hearted and enjoyable fun of Paul Rudd as Ant-Man back on the screen. Laughed throughout, was a great time and sought to set out and establish the next big bad for the MCU going forward. 7/10

Finally watched the second Avatar, the picture is great but that's probably all.
Not sure it was worth my time, going to the cinema etc etc. After cutting the cord and installing Redbox TV (here is the way to do it - https://www.firestickhow.com/redbox-tv.html) i can watch all my favorite tv channels at home and enjoy tons of great movies and shows. I don't think i will go to the cinema any time soon to be honest, cause that was a disappointment.
