What film did you watch last night?

Decided to watch some of my parent's favourite films.

The go between - loved the book, really enjoyed watching the film for the first time in 30 years. Gentle look at Edwardian England through the eyes of a young boy.

Next up is Death in Venice, Don't look back, Greengage Summer and Blow Up.

Twisters - don't even think I can give it a score out of 10. Boring, tornado scenes were severly lacklustre and it's not really a sequel. Just a stand alone movie. No relation to the original
Dorothy V festure in the opening sequence, why? no idea it wasn't mentioned. Not only that but the events of the original can't have lead to any kind of tornado predition or gathering of data as they still couldn't track them or work out when they would form.
just meh

Horizon an American Sage, i wanted to like this, there are some great bits but its so disjointed. it felt like a lot was left on the cutting floor to bring the run time down, its the only explanation i can come up with some of the character/story progressions within the film, one minute a character is doing one thing, the next they have moved on completely without any explanation. maybe 3 films with the separate story's told that then come to conclude in the 4th would have been a better approach than trying to progress each one within a single film.

Watched matrix 4. As some reviews were positive.
3/10

Started with promise then quickly descended into a mess for me.

Didn't really like the new characters.
It seemed to try to be too psychological, but in the end it was all to save one life? Also Of the films new concepts were rushed. Really didn't like the portal changes. Some of it felt like complexity for complexities sake. Especially the plan to release trinity.

It all just felt messy, I wasn't invested. Spent half time figuring out what was going on and half wondering.. Does any of this matter?

Also. Felt quite samey as the original but worse.. I liked the game aspect.. But it went no where really.

End fight was tedious.. Went on far too long. And again.. Just a rehash of old films.

Quite predictable.. Did anyone die?

Just a bit meh

Other films I've been catching up on this week were better.
Edge of tomorrow
Upgrade (bit random)

I thought were both better

Robocop 2 (1990)

I was convinced that I'd seen it before, but after watching it last night, I'm pretty sure that it was my first time.

The original film was one I really loved and would rent on VHS multiple times and eventually buy my own copy.

The sequel is worse in every conceivable way and by some margin.

The acting is poor, dialogue is laughable, the effects are worse, the violence is toned down, the humour doesn't work and they didn't even use RoboCop's music.

3/10
