What film did you watch last night?

The Amazing Spider Man - 7/10 - Better than the originals if you like spider man you will like this one but I am not such a big fan but it was still an ok movie.

Dark City (bluray) - 8/10 I had not seen it for years and it still an excellent movie and the bluray version is great. They should make a sequel!.

Ted 6/10 - mildly amusing up until a point where I just skipped to the through it. some funny parts but overall pretty weak.

Silent House 5/10 - well acted, if a bit over acted, not such a great movie and a bit stupid overall but not the worst.

Thats my boy 4/10 - one or two funny parts but i couldn't watch it and turned it off half way through as it was a rubbish story.

Just finished watching The Shawshank Redemption again for probably the 5th time.

First time in a while however, still cried when Crooks hangs himself and when they meet at the end. What a brilliant, brilliant film.

Rise of the Panet of the Apes - 7/10, black dude (boss) was pretty weak boss and actor. Everything else was very good, story, effects etc.

Man on a ledge - 6/10, Mrs got bored 20mins in, but it very quickly picked up to an unbelievable, but fun little movie.

Ghostbusters - classic, watched with my two sons, some of the effects looked dated but hey, it is nearly 30 years old! 5/5

What age are they? My little one is 8 now and i am still holing out to watch this and Star Wars, Indy etc.

The librarian scene is putting me off.

I asked on another forum to choose between X-Men and Capt America, they advised X-Men, but neglected to tell me about the bit at the begining about the jews and how they kill his mum in front of him!! We turned it off at that point, so he missed out on an awesome movie.

They are 6 and 9. I would say that yours would be ready for Star Wars but Indy is pretty scary (the face melting) and has lots of kissing in (which my two hate!). Ghostbusters was sort of scary but in a funny way. TBH I am more concerned with language than scary stuff as they know it is not real.

I would recommend the 'Parent's Guide' part of IMDB it will tell you of any swearing, scary, nudity, smoking etc, just in case you have forgotten. Here is Ghostbusters for example.

We need to talk about Kevin.

Was pretty messed up. A story of a very problematic strange child, coupled with a very depressed lenient mother and absent father, spawning a complete psycho.
A slow but good story about how at a very young age he had a malicious hatred for the woman who looked after him and the effect it had on her, fleeting back and forth between the aftermath of his future and the clips of his different ages in the past.

Only downside to it was it didn't conclude well for me. It wasn't a film about what he eventually did, but more about how he treated his mother without anyone else knowing and seeing.

Had a bit of a Wes Anderson Monday, watched Royal Tenembaums and Darjeeling Limited, my two favorites of his, but not seen for a few years. Great to watch and share with the missus, she summed up Royal Tenembaums nicely, that "each scene is like a painting"

No they should not. Some films do not need sequels, and this is one of them. It's a great film, and should be left as it is.
