Seeking a Friend for the end of the World

Very good film , my eyes filled up a little at the end.

Such a good film! It's not my normal type of movie pick but I quite like Keira Knightley and I mistakenly thought it was a "comedy buddys on a road trip" type movie from the trailer rather than a relationship film with some funny bits so I gave it ago and loved it!

Blade - 10/10

Got the Blu-ray through the other week and it's never looked better. I remember the days when I'd watch it over and over again on vhs!

Still as good as action and vampire films ever come, one of my favourites!

Cockneys vs Zombies - which was actually quite amusing with some fairly big names in it. Was good to see Alan Ford (Brick Top from Snatch) back on the ball with Honor Blackman as well. Also good to see Michelle Ryan still finding work after Eastenders and her failed attempt at a Bionic woman remake. I'd still recommend this film as an off the wall type of comedy and give it a 7/10 :)

Friend of mine was an extra in this, apparently Ryan is a giant ***** :p

The amazing spiderman. Some good moments but mostly gash. Good cast ruined by teeny bop situation.
edit- I kept thinking that the score was excellent.

End of Watch
Enjoyed the showed, likd the two mains, supporting chaps were all reasonable.
Decent patched together story.
Some very amusing talking scenes, those two in the car crusing made for good dialogue.

Ted

A man wrestles with the lingering consequences of a childhood wish in this live-action comedy from FAMILY GUY creator Seth MacFarlane. As a young boy, John Bennett wanted nothing more than for his beloved teddy bear Ted (voice of MacFarlane) to come to life. Incredibly, that wish was granted. But now that John (Mark Wahlberg) is all grown up, his boyhood dream has become a nightmare nuisance. Mila Kunis, Joel McHale, and Giovanni Ribisi co-star.

thought it was really good and funny. lots of little jokes dotted about which i'm sure some people will totally miss. Can understand why its not for everyone though. was put of by a lot of comments that it was pretty poor, how wrong some people are.

This movie had an estimate budget of US$125M, which is huge, for non-CGI heavy movie.

With sequels for successful franchises, movie studios are much more likely to green light huge budgets (because the idea is already tried and tested). When there is an original idea, movie studios are a lot more careful as the idea is not tried/tested.

Lack of money was not the problem here and I'm sure if they needed more money, the movie studio would've released the funds. Lack of original ideas, execution and editing probably was the problem.

I know that can be true, but daft studio's destroying a franchise by doing a cheap follow up and getting a last box office cash cow is pretty common also.

Insane though $125mil.... from watching it you wouldn't be surprised if there were a few studio exec's out there with some serious coin in their cayman accounts :p

enjoyed the film even if I came somewhat downbeat due to the depressing nature.

Carell and Knightly hardly do anything fantastic though and just do their usual act.

A good premise and story, but probably could have been a bit special with actors who have more depth.

Batman Dark Knight Rises :- 7/10 and worst of the trilogy for me, but still a decent film. Found more things that annoyed me than the other 2.

Looper :- 6/10 alright film, JGL does a decent effort at being a young willis i though, plot holes lowers the score for me.

Resident evil restribution :- Just one big WTF lol, 4/10 (being generous) it seems theres no real plot anymore, and lets just chuck previous peeps in etc etc, shame they've been ruined for me.

Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom - probably my least favorite Jones movie, but i'm working through them at the moment on my new TV (any excuse). The special effects are all pretty terrible, but considering the film is older than I am, its understandable!

6/10 More than made up for by the other TWO films in this TRILOGY.

Malcolm X, have to say its the first time watching it for me..missus has seen it once before and she recommended it to me.

Stunning movie in what was Denzels first proper role i imagine, think this is the movie that catapulted him to worldwide fame.

Anyhow its a bit long but based on Malcolm X's life as he grew up and then became the leader of the Nation of Islam, only for him to leave as he didnt agree with a few things that the NOI stood for. A shame his life was ended too soon.

9/10 for me and one of the best movies ive seen in a while.

Watched the latest Casino Royal again (wanted to watch last two films before seeing Skyfall). Wasn't overly keen on it on first watch but quite enjoyed watching it again.

Probably a solid 7/10

Quantum tomorrow - I just love the start of that film!
