Drove a princely amount of 20 miles yesterday, I am overall impressed. My closest proxy to this car was a A1 185PS my ex had. I would say this is a better car to drive, and I prefer the cabin in the ST-3. It feels more like a drivers car given the A1 had an amazing auto box that took loads of fun away. I quite like the fact there are loads of buttons in this car, but I can see why it would annoy people.
The seats are great, and I like the technology that comes with it. Only thing is there is a tiny differential between the rear wing and the rear bumper on driver side that makes the bumper hang out by a few mm, so they are going to realign it for me. I am going to wash it properly sometime this week (thanks logsi for the recommendation on products)
Good points (so far)
- Loads of features as standard for the price versus other rivals
- Decent amount of oomph on tap, but when you don't want to drive it like a demon, it is gentle and fuel economy is good
- Seats are really comfy
- Cabin makes the car feel bigger than it really is, and I imagine the car will be comfy for long distance
Possible Negatives (and I am being pedantic!)
- the rear seats look like they could only be used by smaller people
- the other Fiestas in the line have good cable management features for the USB port, it would have been good if they carried them to this car, or had put another USB port in the arm rest
- no Xenons even as an option
- I like the ford interface on the multimedia system but it could have done with a bigger screen, and also more useful info showing on the dash (e.g. track names, nav details etc)
Overall love the car, and we are doing a 400 mile roundtrip for the bank holiday so looking forward to trying it properly on a motorway and not on the roads of West London!
