Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

Really really can't fault the coilovers in anyway really, lots of adjustment and you can have them as soft as the B12 kit or rock hard if you wanted to.

Fronts are as low as they will go which in all honestly is probably as far as i'd go, rears still have the adjuster in so can go lower if you wanted.

The car just feels planted giving you so much more confidence in the corners to 'hold on' rather than 'I had better slow down a bit'.

I'm probably just scratching the surface of what they can do without taking them to a professional and getting them setup properly but for the price, I think they are brilliant.

and I'll fully admit that with the car being so low I will be effecting the handling of the car but for the time being, I love the stance.

How are you finding those new coilovers? Run into any hiccups yet or as good as they were the day you put them on? :)

I think for the look to work sans spoiler you need to get some deep dish rims, stretched rubber, lots of poke, totally euro styled.

Borbets anyone?

I hate that look, it really doesnt suit the fiesta at all imo :(

Got my AP coilovers fitted today i frickin love them, as logsi says the car feels planted not had a proper blast with them yet so will get some pics and stuff 2moz when ive washed her :D

Well with the change of suspension and wheels the didn't feel as tight as it used to be in terms of steering and I knew that the tracking needed to be checked as the car was now lower too.

Headed over to Aline in Dudley where they had the car on their Hunter laser alignment with 10 mins and the first thing he said was "Have you done anything to this? The toe is completely out" at which point I laughed and explained that it was probably due to the new suspension.

Didn't realise just how 'out' he meant until I saw the before chart...

No wonder it was such a pig to drive on the motorway there and I had to have the steering wheel off centre to drive straight!

15 mins later and all is well again. Car feels so much better to drive, it still amazes me just how much altering the toe in effects the handling. Well worth the £25!

What did I do?! Didn't notice anyone too close when I pulled out, bar the usual people flying around the corner at the top of my road and the crap turning circle making it a trickier maneuver to do if I want to back off my drive and move to the church car park over the road...tonight I was mildly pre occupied, was just shuffling the cars around on the drive so I don't have to shift the car before my parents go out in the morning...

This borderline stalking should stop btw, or at least you should introduce yourself in person! :p

Haha

I actually stopped in the middle of the road and got out but the traffic had built up by then so I had to move :D

I'll say hello and do some kind of Mason handshake next time I see you :)

Haha didn't spot you when you got out!

James, see you had the same good service as I had from A-Line, I've been to them twice. Always friendly and helpful. They are competitive for tyres as well, price matched me before against blackcircles and ordered in tyres to fit them the same day, keeping me updated on when they would arrive so I could come down at my convenience.

They even offered to stay open a little later than they normally would in case I wanted to pop home briefly rather than go straight to their place from work (!)

They are brilliant, can't fault them at all. I've been everytime I've had the suspension changed and at £25 for a toe reset, it's worth the travel compared to the £90 something that a place around the corner from me charges for the same thing.

Always end up chatting to them about car bits and pieces haha.

How did they adjust the rears? Has the ST got adjustable rears? Whenever i took my Zetec to have 4 wheel alignment they said it was impossible as the rears couldn't be adjusted at all.

I always wanted the rear done first and foremost as you could see the amount of toe in on the backs. So much so that they ruined a set of Toyos.

Am tempted to go back to Taylors Tyres down here and go on their hunter machine.

EDIT - Looking back at the diagram it looks like the fronts were only done.

There's no rear adjustment for anything as standard, the hub is totally fixed. Could theoretically be tweaked with camber shims etc if you were tracking the car but its quite a specialist thing to tweak a car that way....

Edit: Just got a new set of plastic clips for my side skirt, £20.33 inc vat! For about 9 tiny plastic clips...I feel violated! :(

Was it someone from here who managed to get new mondeo disks and calipers for £300? If so where from? And do you need anything else to be able to fit them?

Edit: doesn't matter now

I am pushing my girlfriend towards one of these for her next car. She has around 5k to spend and we are looking at 07 examples. What do I need to look out for?

Did I mention powerstation are also polybushing the suspension on Monday too? And I might ask them to fit my oil cooler too... :D.

After that my car is essentially finished (might see what bits mountune do like the underdrive pulley and brakes but I'm in no mad rush as I already have a PAS relocation kit and newish discs with DS2500 pads, braided lines and motul fluid, so its a good setup as is!)

If you wanted to look at/poke around/go for a spin in the car you're welcome to pop down to mountune on Wednesday some time in the late morning! At the moment it appears I'm doing mountune and back in a day (nearly 300 mile round trip) so can't hang around too long...

Annyone happen to know the wheel bore size of the hubs?
measure the diameter of the centre hub, from one side to the other, in millimeters. (This determines your bore size).

Or know what size spigot ring will be needed to fit 17" Team dynamic monza R's to the ST?
I got them fitted last night and there was a little bit of wobble untill i'd tightened them up so thinking i need to get spigot rings for them.
Although driving it today everything felt perfectly fine so i think the nuts should hold it ok.
