Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

Are these inlets prone to heat soak?

The fitting kit includes a Ferriday thermal gasket so the block doesn't transfer too much heat to the inlet, it does get fairly warm after a long drive but air flows through it so quickly that any heating effect is negligible!

The design of the mountune induction system means that the air going in should be relatively cool too - the filter is largely enclosed and is fed by a cold air feed entering the box from underneath...

Against advice on here I went ahead with Parada Spec 2's, decided that for the dry performance they were good for the money and after chatting to a colleague of mine with same tyres + car they were ok for me on wet days since I don't push on in the rain anyway :)

Got a Milltek cat-back on order too which I can't wait to get :D

i think they should be ok... but it kinda opens up my excuse to ask the next question.

Has anyone heat wrapped there exhaust manifolds? Im thinking of wrapping mine, maybe as far back as the cat. However its a daily that does 16k a year... Might be ruined within a year?

Trevor works for Mountune... I beat him at brands with mp185 and normal lowering springs while he had mr200(his car was the test car) diff kw,s etc. So he wanted to get more power.

It has a bigger bore exhaust, ported and polished head, forged internals (I think) extremely lumpy cams and a 8000rpm limit.

In the practice which was wetter I beat him by 1.5 seconds (both running cs3's) I think it was and was only a few tenths from coming 4th. As the track dried up for the how fast runs I spun off due to exploring the extra grip too far then took it easier on my 2nd run :(

I posted about it a few pages back but no one commented lol :( video included.

MR220, hmm will have to get more details about that, does sound mighty expensive though assuming its a forged bottom end and not just ARP rod bolts!

I did watch the video, think we are so used to seeing you battering around a track though, might explain the lack of comments at the time! :D

yeh its getting a bit boring even for me watching them. lol. Must do more tracks... Nurburgring for September i think, but apparently you cant record on there now. :(

the MR220 sounded terrible at idle and i dare say would be too annoying on the road. On the track at full song though... omg amazing.

Cat backs.

Asked elsewhere but thought I'd ask here too. What did you choose and why? What brand and res or non res?

Well just got mine today maj...
Went for a milltek non-res. Didn't want an overly loud chav pipe but more of a nice crisp noise + liked the fact that it looked reasonably OEM :)

Milltek seemed to be the popular choice when I asked elsewhere too.

they are the best of both worlds... A bit of back pressure and not too loud. The quieter Resonated version is even better.

I had a Piper for 3 years and while i "loved" the sound, the cruising on the motorway is most likely the reason that im DEAF now... WAY too loud even when just part throttle.

Mountune exhaust is resonated and VERY quiet compared to the Piper.

Decided to try something and have bought some 20mm rear spacers to replace my 12.5 ones, want a bit more poke at the rear to give the car a better 'stance' ;)

Also bought one of the last few bonnet lips too!
