Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

Sorry for jumping into this one.

My brother has a 55 plate red Fiesta ST with about 55k miles on the clock. I'd say its in good condition.

Any idea broadly how much it might be worth?

Bah tyre gone flat again despite them re-sealing it. Gonna have to go get some new ones today! Hope someone's got some decent ones in stock nearby!

EDIT: No one has anything in stock! Need something today as I've got a long drive tomorrow! Had to get Yokohama Parada's :(

Just drove to work with them on, just 2 on the back, and they seem a million times better than the **** I had on before, but then it is nice and sunny today! To be honest I drive carefully in the rain anyway and they can't be any worse than what was on there - from what I've read they are not bad, just not as good as some others. And for £75 a corner you can't complain that much I guess!

Did find out one of the rear rims is buckled slightly though on the inside edge, not badly or anything but still :(

Just had my plastics done gloss black. Makes the car look so much better.

Tempted by a gloss black roof wrap next.

Hmm that does look good.. How much did it cost to get the plastics done, or did you do it yourself? Is it easy to remove? Guessing it's just tons of the usual pain in the ass plastic clips etc?

Cost me £35 as I know someone who does car cosmetics part-time. Really pleased with the result. My mate took the plastics off for me, you do need to use some force (as well as a screwdriver) to get them off but not so much that the clips snap.

A guide from FSTOC:

Top Grill - Very Easy

Fog Surrounds - Very Easy (a screw in each and they come off, no expanding lugs)

Lower Grill Insert - Moderate (pull it very firmly at each end whilst holding the surround in place, you don't wana pull the bumper with it)

Lower Grill Surround - Moderate/Hard (take number plate off. you'll need a slim flathead screwdriver to prize the lugs out of their holes. start on the bottom with screwdriver. then firmly tig at the top section behind the number plate. there are pegs holding the insert at each side too. make sure when you are pulling that you hold the bumper in place or it will come away with the insert.)

Rear Insert - Easy (unscrew the 2 self-tapering screws under the insert. pull at the sides to get some leway, you'll notice the thin plastic trim above the insert will come loose, you can remove this now. same trick with the rest of the insert-hold the bumper back whilst you pull away. apply firm but not too aggresive force)

Rear Reflecter Pieces - Moderate (get under you bumper to see where the lugs need pooping through the holes, as soon as you push 2 through the rest will follow, same for each side. remember to remove the reflecters)

Cheers, doesn't seem too bad I guess, might have to give it a go at some point, just finding someone to paint them then!

Just almost asked the same question on the post you made on the ST OC website lol

The front lower grills are a nightmare. Took a lot of ****** and blinding to not damage the paint when i did mine in plastidip. After doing it on the ST i think i'd probably pay someone to do it on the MK7 knowing what i know now... :p

Painted all the grills on my MK6 myself and I agree it does make the car look so much better. It's a wonder ford didn't add this as an option when selling the car in the first place. I found it fairly easy to do with the preparation taking more time than painting. :)

funny enough im painting mine this week, taking longer than i expected partly because i didnt bother getting up today so i only got a hour to do stuff. Going for satin black again. Rubbed the surround down with 600 grit, but the grills will take AGES if i rub each hole down... any tips? lol.

Also painting my strut brace Ford Signal yellow.. looks good so far :D

Annoyingly they seem to do this to the whole Ford range now in gloss black apart from the Metal...I am going to get that done some time though. Looks an easier job than the ST also.

Just be lazy and do what i did and plastidip them! :p

find a company with a light sandblaster for grills.

I have a guy who sprays my stuff for me and a lot of the other guys on ZSOC UKFN STOC etc etc.. He's in Blackpool, he swaps your parts for painted parts + cash and swaps them over while you wait for free. All my car has been done by him.

I used to be a sprayer @ TVR and if you didnt sand before painting it will flake off and be a girl dog to get it all off when it eventually does.
