Windows 10

That's annoying as need to install to a new ssd, guess just do windows 8 first then upgrade?

You can't do that either any more. The download to get the little Enabler patch to allow Windows 10 to be installed over Windows 8.1 through Windows Update has also been removed.

I dont think there is any way to get a new install of Windows 10 working at the moment. Only upgrading an existing 10 Preview to RTM works.

no this isn't the final build... it's very near tho

Microsoft did the same thing with Windows 8 3 years ago.

Build 6.2.9200.16384 signed off as RTM released to OEM partners for manufacturing on 1 August 2012 then Microsoft released to MSDN and TechNet days later, I downloaded it from TechNet and installed Windows 8 RTM and activated it. 2 months later Microsoft launched Windows 8 on 26 October 2012 for general availability and everybody included me received new update notification from Windows Update, the update upgraded RTM branch build 6.2.9200.16384 to GDR branch build 6.2.9200.16693.

GDR mean General Distribution Release, it is the final build a close step away from RTM.

Just noticed 5 new builds on buildfeed.net.

10.0.10240.16385.th1_st1.150709-1915
10.0.10240.16386.th1_st1.150710-1537
10.0.10240.16387.th1_st1.150711-1429
10.0.10240.16388.th1_st1.150712-1414
10.0.10240.16389.th1_st1.150713-1543

I think on 29 July general availability we will see new GDR build to update RTM build 10.0.10240.16384.th1.150709-1700 we all run already to GDR build possible 10.0.10240.16389.th1_st1.150713-1543. :)

That is all very well, but my current build 10166 does not offer me the upgrade to 240, and as there are no official iso available I am stuck on build 10166.

Grrrrrrr

I can upgrade from 8.1 to 10162 and it's activated fine. If I upgrade from 10162 to 10240 it will not activate. Trying to upgrade from 8.1 to 10240 errors and reverts back to 8.1....

I have given up and will await the proper update. I. Worried if I leave it with 10162 it will never update as it has not received updates yet even though it's activated all ok.

Upgraded from an activated 10162 to 10240 and its still activated and running fine, it managed to cabbage my printer driver and got stuck in a loop of trying to download and install a new one, failing and then trying again... but ive manually installed a newer version directly from Samsung and its all now working fine.

I think the 10240 I have downloaded might be a U.S. One and that's why it's not activating ? I cannot find any links to a UK one....

I shall keep waiting seems strange that I never received the 10166 update either....
Having the same problem...

Although my laptop manage to get the update to 10240 and "install" as normal, only to fail at the final hurdle (again) and revert back to 10162

I downloaded an ISO of 10240 and it installed fine and is running ok but fails to activate. I have tried my original key and a few from the web but it still fails to activate ?

I have upgraded from 8.1 to 10162 and then to 10240. 10162 was activated as normal ?

Any ideas anyone ?

I updated from 10166 to 10240 via Windows update, and mine too won't activate, hell it even says that it's not connect to the internet... although all network settings and cable are fine and functioning (never had this problem before)

I can RDP in to the pc but it, won't activate and has net problems, yellow triangle on Lan icon (taskbar).

Fixed the LAN issues:D and activated, turns out 10240 decided to disable IP4 settings, so was only connecting with IP6
