Assassin's Creed Odyssey

I can't even play the game. It loads the little splash screen then my PC crashes and restarts!

I would also check any overclock you have on anything. Game is quiet CPU intensive at that inital splash screen for some reason. Have found if my CPU was not fully stable as a result of an overclock it seemed to crash. Could be worthwhile trying to remove any OC on anything and seeing if that helps.

Drivers update @The1nonly1 ? Try fullscreen, windowed?

Yes, all uodated.

Good shout, I'll remove the overclock and try again.

Liking it so far, feels a bit like Skyrim with the choices you get to make. Had to guess a few after skipping dialogue just went with the nice option but did accidently choose to threaten some old woman.

Look at my horse
My horse is amazing
Give it a lick
It tastes like raisins

Wtf is that?! ^

I've got me a boat! Time to terrorise the seas!
Finished the first starter island in 4-5hrs. I wasn't too impressed with the place as it felt very plain compared to some of AC:O's smaller towns.

Also not a fan of Ubisoft using Ezio's Family as the music for their AC games. Feels a bit out of place to me.

Combat seems OK so far. Battered the Cyclops easily enough and was expecting a tough fight. The combat is as 'slidey' as ever and the act of holding both shoulder buttons to block on the 360 controller will take some getting used to.

Enjoying it so far though as it feels very similar to AC:O gameplay wise. Shall post a benchmark screen tomorrow.

Removing overclock worked but I'm still not happy with doing this as it's been fine with every other AAA game.

Level 4, go me! I must stop getting sidetracked! The draw distance (and detail of) is much better than Origins I am finding. Has rarely dropped under 60fps so far. My 1080Ti isn't even bothering with its OC mode. An impressive feat.

It simply means your overclock was not as stable as you thought. Increase the voltages and adjust as needed. AC crashed for me when it worked fine for all other games. Turned out my voltages were not as high in some spots as needed. Notching things up and works flawlessly. It at least you know the root cause I suppose so could tweak from there.
