Got my first video with the high speed camera:

Known faults:
Over swing
Static lower body on down swing
Slightly across line at top.

good god you look the spitting image of me mate.

scared me at first.

only way im sure its not me is that im left handed. lol

Had a session at the range tonight and had a work colleague and got him to record my swing. Having seen it, I'm a little concerned. As you can see, I don't complete a full back swing. The end result of where the ball was landing was great, distance maintained etc, but to me it looks so lazy.

Is this likely to affect my game? I know McDowell has a very short swing.

I've got a lesson Thursday where I'm pretty sure he is going to be unhappy with me for this new habit :p

plays Mizuno MP59's and carries his 6i around the 180yd mark, he was carrying the Rocketbladz closer to 200yds!!!!!

And this is proof the marketing works, people need to wise up instead of getting excited by extra length by X iron.

MP59 6 iron loft/length : 30/37.25

Rocketbladez "6" iron loft/length: 26.5/37.625

So the Rocketbladez so called 6 iron has a stronger loft than the Mp59 5 iron let alone a 6 iron. TM have just swapped the numbers on the clubs and people get excited :D

I was always of the understanding that the loft doesn't define the club, and that in the Rocketbladez example the stronger loft is to stop the ball ballooning in the air which it otherwise would, something about a lower centre of gravity on the club.

The consensus so far is that people hitting a 6 iron with these clubs see the ball fly higher than their current 6 iron, despite the Rocketbladez having the stronger loft.

I'm no expert though, I'm sure someone on here will correct me or explain properly how it works :p

It does not matter what number is on the bottom of the club, its all relevant to how far you want the ball to go and making sure there are no gaps in your playable distances between clubs.

The problem when manufactures make clubs like this is that you dont need anything over a 6 iron because it will fly the same distance as your 5 wood/Hybrid and you will have a huge gap between your pitching wedge and your GW/SW because using the 10 yards between clubs rule, the PW will fly 160 yards.

Had a cracking round at Weston today with my bro.

Went round in 79 and i must have had at least 5 lip-outs, could have had a 74 !!
(My lowest ever score is 79)

Awesome mate, literally more than half your handicap!

Your mate had a bit of a shocker though considering his handicap, although that would be equal to my best score round a course haha

Worst kept secret ever is finally out.

The worst-kept secret in golf is out: Rory McIlroy has signed a multi-year equipment and apparel contract with Nike Golf.

At a lavish ceremony in Abu Dhabi, the world No.1 was unveiled to the world's media as the latest addition to Nike Golf's roster of brand ambassadors, which already includes Tiger Woods and has been bolstered already in 2013 by the additions of Nick Watney, Kyle Stanley, Thorbjorn Olesen and Seung Yul Noh.

Today's widely anticipated announcement marks a new chapter in McIlroy's career and, according to various reports, will make him one of the world's highest paid sportsmen.

One estimation has two-time major winner McIlroy earning up to £156m from the deal over the next ten years, comfortably more than the £100m lifetime deal that footballer David Beckham has in place with Adidas.

Under the terms of the deal, McIlroy will wear Nike Golf apparel and play the brand's hardware, including the revolutionary VR_S Covert driver, VR II Pro Blades and VR Pro fairway woods.

Interestingly, the Northern Irishman will also use a Nike Method 006 putter, as opposed to his Scotty Cameron. Leaked images of McIlroy's practice bag at the Els Club in Dubai last week appeared to show his new equipment alongside his Scotty. However, he confirmed he will be playing Nike's putter, as well as choosing from the brand's range of golf balls.

"I've always associated Nike with the best," said McIlroy during his grandiose introduction, which was broadcast live on the internet to a watching global audience. "I've watched Tiger make history as a Nike athlete - I'm excited to try to create my own history."

That, looks very nice, I bet it is off the chart price wise.

£249 on direct golf so probably £220 or under elsewhere

8th Feb.

I reckon I could be hitting one of these and the new taylormade - back to back to see what they are like - don't need a new driver but......................
