I'm not one to pussyfoot around trying to get lowest volts, or temps. All i want is silence and as long as whatever i'm cooling doesn't go over my comfortable temps then i'm an easy bunny :)

Set voltage i'm happy for 24/7, set multi and then memory and i'm off. I could lower temps is i let the chip downvolt, i could get lower voltage if i spent an age stress testing. Don't have the patience or time.

All i care about is my best frequency for said benchmarks.

haha fair enough,if you a busy guy then I understand,i just like mine to sip electricity n **** low temps:D

Jesus Boomstick. 4.9! Congratulations buddy.

Thanks bud, liking this one :)

No the 4790K, that other guy was saying 'you're not missing much' regarding the 4790K. I was saying I went from a 4770K that was to hot @ 4.4ghz, to a stable chip @ 4.9ghz @ 1.38v, all using the same build. So it's a massive difference for me, obviously the chip is vastly improved. Same price point and much cooler / better overclocking. I mean I can't see any reason to be negative about it but there are always some who will moan :p

Those are great temps for that voltage mate. Pretty similar to what I am getting using RealBench at 48x multi with 1.310v. Reckon I would be about 5 degrees hotter at least if I put another .07v through it.

Got it to pass the RealBench benchmark, although as I say it failed the stress test just shy of the 15 minute test I had set, so still not 100% stable yet, but I will get there hopefully.

You really need to tighten your memory Boom. Same ICs as my sticks, only mine wont tighten so reckon some PEBKAC from me :D
4.9Ghz with tight 2400 memory should easily net you over 1000points on R15.

What speed is your chip wazza? (4770K I presume?)

Yeah I will need to do a bit of reading on how to use offset properly and also any other tweaks. Would be quite happy with 4.8. Running RAM at 2000Mhz just now although it is 2133Mhz sticks. Again will need to look at the timings and stuff as well when the time allows for it.

3770k

but it was a bench run at 5ghz,normal 4.8ghz was 82722,theres a thread somewhere with results

I havnt used haswell so cant help much, but its not much different from ivy, offset is easy once you get the hang of it,it wont affect stability either

Ah ok bud, not really looked into the memory yet, I just set to extreme profile 1 or whatever it's called lol.

Will try and tighten them up.

Working fine here. Couple stability issues down to overclocking as to be expected, but other than that working perfect.

I updated BIOS in Windows using the BIOS updater tool that was included with the new BIOS. Took a few minutes and obviously wipes any previous overclock settings or profiles (which you cannot use even if backed up due to different BIOS versions).

Good to hear guys, in currently on 1402 for the formula. A bios that needs a bit more vcore than previously on my current chip. Oc'ing the 4790k will be a starting from scratch for me as i had a known baseline to work from on the 4770k based on its last owners experience.
