**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

hah yeah be careful, the Seahawk EK appears to be a gaming X with an Ek block. I am not posting about that card.

The AIO seahawk (which i am refering to) will be a reference FE PCB as was the 1080 version.

unless someone has pics of the PCBs caveat emptor!

Looks like the Zotac amp extreme is the one for me with it's 16+2 power phases :) other flagships cards only have 10+2 phases.

Again makes absolutely zero difference to max clocks. Did nobody learn from the 1080 launch? People waited months for the high end bespoke 16+2 expensive boards to come out and then didnt even manage the same overclock as somebody who bought an FE on day one.

Choice of cooler is the only thing to go for in conjunction with warranty unless anybody knows for sure the voltage and power limits will be unlocked with a later bios.

I'm personally not looking for overclockability, just decent fan cooling with low noise. Which brand should we go for?

Also, howabout PSU requirement? Not even sure which PSU I have, have to check! :D

I forgot they were both called Seahawk, as I said I have caselabs with full watercooling
with 7x 120mm fans and 1000W titanium PSU. I didn't buy a full size NVIDIA chip since
the 780Ti though so I think this is the one for me.

They say the MSI gaming x was the best card of the 1080 products,
so probably a good board to have.

EVGA was probably on the avoid list because they had some problems recently
with certain parts of the board not touching a heatsink which supposedly
made them likely to catch on fire.

I've currently got a gainward triple fan 980ti nice n quiet, I've gone for the zotac amp extreme

I've like the look of Zotacs cards lately. Myself I would have gone with the AMP and saved a few quid (If there's much of a difference that is), It may not be a triple fan model but based on the 1080 model and the OCUK sales reviews it's more than enough to keep Pascal cool and quiet so I imagine it'll be the same with the GP102 chip. Either way remember to register for your 5 year warranty.

Yeah me too, was looking at the 1080 amp extreme last year, looks a top card and good cooling apparently, stocks were so bad and the little difference between the 980ti and the 1080 is why i held off for the amp extreme ti this time round, I'm a sucker for lighting and spectre lighting on the extreme was another deal breaker for me, thanks for the tip, i believe you have to register within 28 days for the 5 yr warranty which was another appealing point about this card.

Well I got my 1080 Ti today and what a card it is! amazed by how much faster it is than my 980 Ti reading benchmarks is one thing experiencing it is another! though not sure if I have a potato of an overclocked, I can only get 115mhz on the core it peaks at 2ghz and normally sits at 1900-1950 and + 425 on the memory for 522 gb/s bandwidth, or is that an okay overclock? I suppose an extra 10% performance on top of the fastest card out there is nothing to sniff at :D

what's everyones overclocks on these things?
I can't get more than 120mhz on the core without it locking up :( boosts to 2ghz and then sits off around 1950mhz, then again I suppose a 2050mhz 1080 Ti vs 1950 will only show in benchmarks and in games it'll be 1fps difference so doesn't bother me too much -_-

Try overclocking the core and leaving the memory at stock, to see what performance you get.
