hence why you used to get the package in two boxes, 1 with older package contents (rift, xbox controller, sensor) and 1 with touch controllers and extra sensors. its really not that difficult to understand why its been done that way.... now you get the new adjusted 1 box solution which has headset, touch controllers and 2 sensors.
the original package was always temporary until the new stock and package was finalized

I understand what you're saying, but I didn't complain we'd be getting less than we were meant to be, just less than we were with the old stock.
I'd rather have an XBOX controller and the remote thingy than 1 less box. The controller was worth what ~£40 and not sure about the remote thing. Now I'd still be paying £400 but I'd be getting £40+ less stuff.

I had a call from sales on Saturday about this on my birthday :( proper stressed me out because i knew the guys who had been waiting for over a week would be annoyed!

Basically what went down was - We had some units of the bundle put aside for orders of the Optic system (these had been ordered before we had run out of stock). A couple of these units were shipped accidentally to people who had paid for a bundle. It was an over enthusiastic member of our warehouse team forcing orders through that were on hold, but not doing it in date order. They must be new and didn't know about the queue or that these had been put aside for system orders, and were just acting on their own initiative. I just had a look and it looks like there was only 3 units that were shipped before sales picked up on it and stopped warehouse then called me to let me know.

For those who have ordered and are still waiting: I'm still waiting for news on the 500 units we have ordered. The last ETA I had was "end of the month". If I find out any more info then I'll let you know here!

L35TA in customer service explained to me after i told him about the orders being shipped out for new orders, still think first come should be first server no matter if a rift bundle is brought or a full system plus rift is brought; but i do see why the stock is held hostage. other places are saying the 30th and 31st. oculus should have been well prepared for this bit of a joke on there part to be honest.
 
If ZombieRodeo's Rift has just been shipped, does that mean there's a chance that new orders will get shipped soon too? I've had an order with Game UK and the Oculus website since the 18th, and both are estimating another week or two. I'll cancel them and order here in a heart beat if there's a chance it'll arrive before mid-august.

It's a mess from what I read. Nobody actually knows when UK is getting stock. Prepare for the worst, could be mid/late August.

People who ordered their Optic PC's had a rift reserved for them, obviously with lag in between orders and PC build times some have been shipping over the past few days. I have requested updates earlier today from the distributors, once I've received word on the stock situation I'll update here, although the lack of responses so far is worrying. I have a meeting with Oculus at Facebook HQ next week so I'll also fill everybody in on any new information if we are still waiting then!
 
I'm just frustrated that every site has been pushing back their estimates every few days. I wouldn't mind being told "It'll be there by the 15th of august" if that means it'll actually be here by then. Every time I'm a few days from expecting it, it's pushed back another few days. Oculus really need to communicate better with their customers on this, or at the very least the retailers they do business with. The last 2 weeks has been nothing but a frustrating experience that could have been solved by them just communicating better.

In other news; the big purple store have asked everyone that got 2 sets of touch controllers to send them back or call up and pay £99.99. They can jog on; their website clearly states 2 sets of controllers and a headset for £400.

I've just seen this post. I was told yesterday that my Optic PC is ready to ship today but there's no Oculus Rift bundles available until next week.

In the post I've quoted above, you're saying that Optic PC orders had a Rift reserved for them... is this correct and it's simply a case that the other member of staff was missinformed?

They did offer to ship the PC alone today but I'd rather get my full order in one delivery as I was told would happen when I ordered.

Afraid not, it was only those who ordered their PC's while we still had free stock had sets reserved for them.

Thanks for the clarification. Next week can't come soon enough!

It might be a good idea to update the Optic PC Bundle listing on your website, it was showing all items in stock when I ordered over a week ago and it's still showing all items in stock now.
