Well it's been a few weeks now and I'm slightly dissapointed that my download speed hasn't gone back up.

What should my line be capable of? The cabinet is only 100m or so from my house.

My cab is about 200m away, give or take. Mine started at 80meg, dipped to 60 for a few days and has settled at 71 for a couple of weeks now:

Your cabinet is more likely more than 100m away. Around 400m away.

Your cabinet is about 250m away.

If any line attenuation is around between 10.5dB and 11.5dB are between 150m and 200m away.

Unfortunately the crow flies in a straight line but the copper cable can go round the houses (no pun intended) so could have significantly more length.

I was wondering if this seems right:

I had fibre installed a few weeks back now, and after the initial 79999, having to reboot after a day the speed dropped to the 60mb mark.

It's since had a 9.5 days without a resync, and then nothing has gotten any faster.

This is what I've been left with now, and it's had a couple of reboots since.

What modem / router are you using out of interest?

Currently TalkTalk "Super router". I'd purchase better if I though the connection would be faster, but too be honest I've had no issues with the connection dropping.

I'm not sure you can see FEC etc errors on this modem, but as far as internet connection goes it reports no errors.

No it's an all in one, so can't 'hack' it too see line stats.
