My battery has been shocking today. It was on 6% by like 4:15, taken off charge at probably 6:30am... It went down from 13% - 6% within 20 minutes :S I had done a restart earlier in the day as well. Wasn't using the phone any more then normal either.

Do all your phones make a rattle when you hold it up with one hand and then tap the apple logo / camera lense on the back with your fingers?

Mine rattles something shocking, need to know if all yours do it and if its loud or noticable at all?

It's due to a slightly loose internal power button bracket (or something along those lines) - nothing to worry about and very common.

If you think it's really bad though, get Apple to replace it.

a lot will say yes, it was a known issue for the iPhone 4 as well.
 
I have a location based reminder set on mine. If this is the cause of it then I'm gonna sell mine. It's ridiculous that a feature of the OS can cause the battery life to be basically unusable.

I haven't turned anything off of mine, all location/push settings have been left on. Maybe I'm lucky. Are you running 5.01? I think that fixed some battery issues.

Today was worse. 8% by 2:33!
7 hours 15 standby
6 hours 29 usage, mainly music...

Thinking of booking a genius appointment, this is stupid.
 
I haven't posted about my battery problems in a while, but the gist is: it's been recording tons of phantom usage (roughly 50% of standby) while sitting doing nothing; and lasting roughly 27 hours from full to flat with no real usage.

I've flat out refused to turn things off in an effort to reclaim some of this lost battery life, so I've gotten used to charging every day.

This is a good example of its worst:

If I had actually been using it for 10 hours I would not be complaining ;)

iOS 5.0.1 was supposed to fix it, but didn't. The 5.1 beta was supposed to fix it, but didn't. The second 5.1 beta was supposed to fix it, but didn't...

Now, you may notice something different about the last shot in that set:

It's still early days, but it looks like iOS 5.1 beta 3 has done the trick.

But isn't the insanely high usage figure actually a bug, and what is causing the battery issues? I got one of these yesterday, and it used 60% battery in the 6 hours I was sleeping last night. And the "usage" was at like 5 hours. it was completely on standby, so it obviously wasn't being used like it said it was.
 
After I posted that last night I realised that Layar had been using the GPS all day and that it was a known bug. Deleted Layar (isn't that good an app), and will post my results again tonight.
 
Mine has been better today.. 52% and 3hours 47 usage and 5h 12 standby.

Not sure I've listened to that much music today and used it to have that much usage though...

Not sure if I should cancel my genius appointment? After its poor show yesterday and the day before I think I should keep the appointment
