Hi all,
I'm hoping you can help me out as i'm having a lot of issues with my PowerColor Radeon Red Dragon RX 5700 8GB Graphics Card.
Like many it seems i'm having trouble loading games, or if i can load them they don't let me play for long before the screen goes black, i get a bhuurr noise and then windows reboots and everything has closed.
I'm running the following system,
- PowerColor Radeon Red Dragon RX 5700 8GB Graphics Card
- MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX AMD AM4 Motherboard
- AMD Ryzen 3700X Processor (8C/16T, 36MB Cache, 4.4GHz Max Boost)
- Crucial Ballistix Sport LT Gray 16GB DDR4-3200 UDIMM x 2 (32GB) (BLS2K16G4D32AESB)
- Corsair RM Series RM650 650W '80 PLUS GOLD MODULAR POWER SUPPLY (CP-9020194-UK)
I've used the following programs to test the system,
- Heaven Benchmark
- HW Monitor
- CPU-z
- Memtest 86
All came back fine with no issues at all.
I have looked around online and found that lots of people have had similar/exactly the same issues as me and have had varying success doing some/all of the following...
- Clean Windows install - Done this
- MB Chipset Drive Update - Done this
- GPU Driver Update - Done this
- Change from PCI-E4 to PCI-E3 - I think I've done this within the BIOS but its not as clear on my version as it is on some shown in online examples
I can play Planet Zoo & Cities Skylines fine, and used to be able to play Planet Coaster too but that seems to not want to play ball now. I recently downloaded The Witcher 3 and tried that today, it plays for 5/10 mins and crashed the PC. The main game that has caused me the issues was trying to play Scum. It started off ok, then would get past the main menu - it would load up with my guy standing by the fire and then the black screen and windows reboot followed.
Currently i'm at the point that i have reinstalled windows, Steam and Scum. I haven't updated the drivers (AT ALL). Scum will now load up and i can play for 10/15 mins until it dies again. I have read about driver issues so I'm not sure if i should re-download them or what i should do right now.
I know that someone else has had similar issues on here (
link) and the general thought is that his issue might be PSU related or the cabling not done quote right. The below if how mine is plugged in and the PSU details are above.
I've had some help on here with this so far in another thread but after doing some tests it is pointing towards it being the GPU as everything else seems to work out all ok.
Any help getting this all working correctly would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks
