The Turing RTX 2080 Ti Owners Thread

Can anyone point me in the direction of some in stock 2080TI? I have had one on pre-order since they were announced and shipping dates just keep falling back. I just bought the cheapest one I could find.

That's against forum rules but if you're savvy enough with the old Google you should be able to find a Palit GamingPro OC for £1200 for delivery on Tuesday

So overclocking...

I am definitely hitting a power wall - I can boost core by +177 and memory +800 but I am finding that my temps are not getting higher than 77C (Founder's Edition) but I am simply running out of power - I actually score higher in Timespy with +175 & +750 than I do +177 & +800.

Still I am getting good results my highest TimeSpy today was 11958 Total (my highest graphics score was 15194) which - well lets just say it is a lot better than my R9 390X was getting ;)

Wondering if it is worth flashing the BIOS for more voltage...

You cannot flash for more voltage, and this would also be counterproductive because increasing the voltage would make you hit power limit even harder. On Turing, you need to keep power limit as high as possible and voltage as low as possible, to get as much power headroom, because this is what is the limiting factor for these cards. You can flash 380W power limit bios (on FE you have max of 320W) and with good cooling (so rather not FE) it will get you to over 16000 graphics score in TimeSpy and basically eliminate power throttling in games, so you will be able to find your core limitations, because right now all you find are power limitations.

However I heard that there are some issues with flashing FE bios. Just look at 2080 Ti owners thread on OCN, there is a lot of talk about flashing bios and there are two bioses uploaded to the main post.

Time Spy 16360 graphics score with 380W bios and max 44C GPU temp with water cooling, cannot get anything more. I will wait for some serious winter and make like 5C ambient temp and then try again

Considering that FE stock score is 13500, 21% increase is not bad.

I thought most of the AIB cards use the same PCB as the FE.

Is this firmware lock something extra added to the FE boards?

Yep. FE cards have a firmware lock by the looks of things.

My MSI cards were ‘locked’ so you couldn’t even export the BIOS for example but you ‘unprotect’ with NVFlash and it’s fine no? Or there are additional locks on the FE this doesn’t remove??

Haha. What happened to the lovely MSI one you ordered gregster?

Do you plan on doing a review and comparing with the 1080Ti you had?

Enjoy :)
The date was moved again to the end of October, so thought stuff it and grabbed the Zotac. Not a bad card at all bud. I will do a review but not sure when. Got too much going on at the mo and won't be comparing to the 1080Ti, as I didn't get chance to do some benching before my mate nicked it.

Get Kaap to do a "shorts" roll of honour thread.

Lol. Nice one Kaaps :D

Looks like I am holding the record for 6700k + 2080Ti on TimeSpy at the moment and that is on H100i with low rpm Noctuas...looking forward to doing my full custom loop next year :)

So am I best to leave Volts at 0 in Afterburner and just up the power limit when overclocking?
