The Pascal GTX 1080 Ti Owners Thread

Finally retired the 290 Crossfire (or more precisely, put them on eBay) and replaced them with a Palit 1080ti Super Jetstream from OcUK.

Very happy with the performance - with titles that support Crossfire properly it's a little faster than the 290CF setup. With games that don't support Crossfire, it's massively faster. It's also running almost as cool as my 290s did. Yes, you read that right - the 1080ti runs almost as cool as my 290s, but to be fair the 290s were running Accelero Hybrid-120 coolers.

The cable on the left to outside the case is one of the LED strips for the NZXT HUE+ - it actually lives attached to the side panel above the window, but needed to go somewhere when I popped the side off to take the pictures.

First Nvidia card in my main PC since the 6600GT back in the day, unless we count the 460 I ran in Hybrid Crossfire for a while to get PhysX in Batman games.

Good choice on card and case. Always feel for those people trying to work out solutions to GPU sag in "normal" cases - always seemed a shame to me more case manufacturers don't give rotated motherboards as an option.

Yeah, this is my Fifth Silverstone case with the rotated design, what kind of temps are you getting in game and how is the fan noise?.

Fan on the card doesn't switch on until 60C and on desktop/non-gaming it's usually hovering around mid 30s. Under gaming it's generally 70C-74C with the fan maxing out around 50-60%. I have my case fans (stock RV03's 180mm Silverstone AP fans) set to adjust based on GPU temperature, from 30% below 60C up to 100% at 70C, can't tell you what noise the GPU fan makes as cannot even come close to hearing it above my case fans. May adjust my case fan curve as not sure the GPU needs all the airflow I'm currently throwing its way to make things a little quieter.

I am sure you'll be very happy with the card, mate, it's nicely built quiet beast.

Yeh I think it spoils the look tho, 2 big white stickers with barcodes on them.

Didnt come with my Inno3d so the first thing i did was to rip of the insufficient cooler and replace it with my mk-26. It even came with a hex socket tool for the hex screws on the cooler.. it's like they were begging me to rip it off.

The palit does everything but put a padlock on the cooler. Good job the coolers is really good.

If the x2 cooler on my inno3d were able to keep the 2ghz oc at around 75-79 degrees and with fans at no more than 60% then i might not have bothered but it couldnt even do that with stock clocks.. so it had to go. Card was dirt cheap though so i kinda counted on the cooler to be bad.

anyone noticed the price drop the 1080 tis are getting ive seen? managed to nab a right bargain of a 1080 ti ive been eyeing for awhile!

I've noticed that as well, a well known site was selling a FTW3 a lot cheaper than anywhere else but they are now out of stock.
