Great looking build and that's a nice upgrade man! My Vega 64 is concerned that it may no longer be the fastest Vega 64 on OcuK! :p

In terms of overclockability.
Best card = Powercolor
Worst = Sapphire

Thanks dude.

And Sapphire worst overclocking card?? Tell that to my Sapphire card that laughs at 1800mhz ;) tehehe

Also Matt. You know there was the bug early days with HWinfo64 where you advised us to disable Vega64 VRM monitoring, I think there were possibly 2 sensors that needed to be disabled...do they still need to be disabled? And can you tell me or post a screenie of yours so I can disable the correct ones again please? I've just gone back through like 100 posts, can only find a few pics but doesn't really show me precisely the ones that need to be disabled as it looks like on the newest versions of HWinfo64 they are labelled differently.

Thanks

WIth your front rad is that pulling into the case? or blowing through and out the front?

Front rad (360x60)is push/pull into the case, intake from outside of case. Got a fan in the bottom of case also as cold intake. Then push/pull CPU rad as exhaust in roof. Works very very well, GPU very rarely goes above 40c in 100% extreme load and CPU so far I've not seen go above 73c under extreme stress testing.

They look so much better in person. The build finish are excellent.
I thought the same, that they didn't look that great until I actually got mine. Don't know what other way to say it, but, they are beautiful cards. You can't really comment until you see it one person. And believe me, you would change your opinion pretty quickly.

Mine doesn't, mine still looks like a silver/grey box (with a little plastic 'R' in one corner).
I mean I don't care, don't see it once it's in my case anyway. It just doesn't feel like a lot of effort was spent on the shroud. I guess if you're releasing 14 months after the cards you're competing against you're not gonna hold it up to make the shroud look nice. If you're gonna skip on designing something on a graphics card I guess I'd rather it was the shroud than the PCB or something.

Oh, when did you get one? You hadn't got one earlier in the week.

Since most of the people who actually have one think their limited edition/LC Vega card is a stunning piece of equipment, then the designers must have done a really good job. There are always people lwho find fault with anything or won't like the design and there is no pleasing those people. If the majority of owners like the shroud then I guess you are wrong and AMD did a really good job of the design.

Mid-week.

I did say at the start that I seemed to be the odd one out. Still they're just opinions, there isn't really a right or wrong, just different opinions.

I'm in an AMD owners thread on (what seems like) an AMD biased forum, so I expected to be in the minority with my opinion.

Indeed you're not wrong - looks are always a matter of taste! This is one of the reasons why it's important that AIB partners get their variants out on the market, and it's a shame it's taking so long.

Though a simple exterior appearance doesn't necessarily mean that little effort was put into design; for all sorts of products it takes particular attention to detail to achieve a clean, uncluttered design (neat/hidden joins, neat/concealed fixings, clean lines etc.).

Does anyone else have screen flicker on the desktop? Usually when watching a video or something in a browser (hardware acceleration isn't even on).

Getting slightly worried my card is becoming unstable as I have some issues cold booting intermittently (thought it was the PSU at first but testing with another PSU seems ok) and sometimes my main screen doesn't even switch on until windows boots!

That coupled with a few hard crashes at stock speeds makes me wonder....

https://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/14256496/fs/13533642. Clocks on GPU are slightly different, just running these at the moment for stability testing rather than direct comparisons. It looks fairly consistent to be honest, Firestrike more of a GPU test isnt it so the improvement marginal at best. Obviously the physics score has been smashed, 77% higher with 8700k.

Did you find it better to run with HBCC on or off when benching?

Do people use HBCC? Is it ok to leave it on all the time? I have only 16GB of memory, what should I set the HBCC value to?

I am guessing that this only comes into play when your video ram runs out?

Also, does overclocking the HBM memory make that much of a difference? Surely HBM is fast enough already?

Getting up to 1100 on the HBM is usually beneficial. Above 1107 it alters the voltage automatically and allows up to 1199MHz. So far there hasn't been much need for above 1100MHz from my testing. Will be doing some extensive testing this week though.

Can some one very kind please help me increase my power limit from +50% to allow up to +200%.
I have a reg file that used to work but it doesn't anymore.
I could be misreading this as tired, but you want to raise the available power limit increase from 50% (330w) to 200% (660w)? I can't see that actually doing anything as far as performance goes (except maybe increase throttling?).

To get on the Roll of Honour all you have to do is post a pic with your user name on it of your Vega 64.
