The RX Vega 64 Owners Thread

I can't seem to get any type of decent core clock without smashing volts through it, but I'm able to undervolt a decent chunk without actually losing much if any performance.

My settings out bench reviews of Vega 64's. So despite running "slower" my card is better because of no throttle etc. Absolute joke out of the box

Hey I updated to Crimson relive 17.11.4 and the latest HWINFO, when i started HWINFO both graphics cards turned off any one have a similar problem I use HW for onscreen displays when gaming, am running Vega 64 in crossfire with ekwb watercooling blocks and an 1800x with monoblock. Noticed on HWINFO that the passive card was running at -256V and core clock was 4,249,456,567 Mhz any clues as to whats going on?. HW shows when gaming that the master runs at 1066Mhxz without overclock and at 185 W.

Yeah had that with HWINFO, when i went to the sensors tab, had to hard restart to bring it back to life, Matts had it as well. :p

Just got my replacement Sapphire Vega 64 LC after waiting for 36 days WHICH FINALLY APPEARS TO BE STABLE. Happy'ish customer now. :) Stable at 1750MHz p7 @ 1.2V and 1120 MHz HBM +50% PL , haven't tried any undervolting yet, but core overclocking crashed. Happy with what I managed for the memory considering it took 2 seconds.

Here's a pic for ROH :) [Apologies for the poor pic quality, **** photographer here.]

To get on the Roll of Honour all you have to do is post a pic with your user name on it of your Vega 64.

Yes i don't know why HWINFO64 causes that, i will pass details onto engineering so we can investigate. However, it may be something out of our hands and more app (HWINFO64) side as this does not happen when not using the app.

If you and @LoadsaMoney can provide your full system specs, OS/driver/hwinfo versions and the steps required to reproduce the issue, I'll pass it along.

Hey calken. Glad to see you're able to run a Vega 64 LC with that PSU. I'm using that one, and have a second-hand V64LC on the way from AMDMatt. Was slightly concerned that the Corsair might not be up to it, but it looks like it'll be fine.

Tried overclocking?

Just adding my 1 cent, I can't get any success with my sku on Core Clks ( tried p7 1775 @ 1.2V ) and it crashed on Superposition. But I got to 1120 MHz on HBM2, 1130 MHz wasn't 'fully stable, it crashed after sometime on TW3' .BTW experienced users here, please help me out, I have this coil whine which is more apparent and irritating in desktop but not so much in-loads. How can I smoothen it out a bit? I am currently using FRTC from Wattman to lock it to 72Hz. TIA

Try pulling and moving the fan cable around, the end that is near the radiator. I solved what sounded like coil whine on two of my Vegas by doing this.

I've given it a good thrashing on RC5, managed to do my highest block count ever in just a few hours. It manages 11,500 M/Key/s while the RX480 only managed 3,700. For me, RC5 is a great test of raw power which makes Vega 64 3 times more powerful than my RX480.

I'm currently running 1750@1100 and 1125@950 on the HBM. That was on the RC5 load which won't put stress on the HBM. I played Elite for a few hours last night with (I think) the same settings. When I had rebooted this morning all the settings had reset, as usual, so i can't be sure. 1100 is really low for that speed and I think I'm only able to achieve that because the HBM isn't kicking off any heat. Most are only able to get it to around 1750@1175 and I've not tried undervolting the HBM yet.

I'm really hoping I've got a good egg in the silicon lottery as my 480 was dreadful.

I'm not sure why I would want to go past 1750 at the moment! Stupid fast. Really quiet, very pleased.

Chris.

If it isn't a big load for you can you just illustrate it somehow? it's really easy to do something wrong here haha. For instance, which cable exactly is the fan cable? There are two thick bunch of cables going out from bottom left side of the card to the radiators.

Anyone care to share their Vega 64 air cooled wattman settings? Would like a few volunteers for a ballpark :)

Also what do people use to test stability?

I'll get a pic of my new build up soon! Thanks in advance!

Good for you with those results! So, fair to say that the PSU isn't holding you back, I reckon.

P6 is set to 1500 mhz at 1000mv
P7 is set to 1600 mhz at 1025mv

HBM is set to 1000 mhz with the voltage there set to 950mv (obviously I know it's not directly HBM voltage control)

I've gamed on it to test.
If it crashes I'll up volts

P6 1537@ 900mv
P7 1642@ 960mv
HBM 1100@ 960mv

All from memory as I re-enter it most times I use the PC (cheers wattman!). It holds between 1570-1580 and the GPU-Z power usage is around 180W. I have another setting at 1025mv which holds around 1625 in game but the performance difference is small.

Have a look at this thread as well.
https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/t...king-undervolting-information-guide.18793012/
The only thing that I have found is that more recent drivers hold higher clocks for the same voltage set so maybe drop the P7 30MHz or so from what is stated in that thread to get the same boost figures.

Stability testing I tend to do in GTA5 as that crashes overclocks for fun on my machine. You can also use something like unigine heaven run in a window if you are doing other stuff at the same time as it tends to crash more gracefully.
